Great game, storyline and challenge.

Bought this as a gift for a dear friend and he absolutely loves it. If you enjoyed Pandemic Legacy (or know someone that did) then this is for you (or them).

This is the next instalment in the "Pandemic Legacy" series. This series takes the award winning co-operative gameplay of Matt Leacock's Pandemic Pandemic Board Game and frames it in a cohesive storyline, of 12-24 campaign games, with twists and turns galore. The game board, pieces, and player character cards will develop and change depending on your choices and no two gaming groups will have the same experience. The up shot of this is that this is a one way trip, i.e. after finishing the campaign the set will be forever altered and the campaign cannot be replayed.The lasting effects of the decisions you make, both positive and negative, raise the stakes and make every game matter. This is not a game for the faint of heart, or those that are bad losers. Not everyone will want to pay £70.00 for a campaign that you can only play through once, but anyone who current plays and enjoys Pandemic will easily see the worth this game has to offer. Although based on the original game Pandemic, the gameplay of Season 2 is quite different from a standard Pandemic game or Pandemic Legacy Season 1 game. I would definitely recommend playing the "prologue" game a few times before starting the campaign for real to get to grips with the new mechanics of "removing supplies" vs the old mechanic of "placing infection cubes". The stories are connected, although you don't have to have played Season 1 to understand what's going on as this is a stand alone campaign and the writing is superb. Although the game is more fun with more people, this can be played with 1, 2 or 3 players controlling multiple characters.

Not quite as good as Season 1, but still v enjoyable with plenty of twists and turns!

We played through the whole game as a party of 2 and found it to be well balanced and an extremely good time. This is probably my favorite board game experience ever. It has a plot that builds on what happened in the first Legacy game, so I recommend playing that first so events in the game mean more to you. The mechanics are somewhat different from normal Pandemic, but also similar. We found it to be more difficult than the first Pandemic Legacy game. I think we lost ... 4 games total, as opposed to one game in Season 1. My only complaint is that some of the stickers didn't stick well, and I needed to use some glue to get the additional rule stickers and role upgrade stickers to adhere to their respective cards. For those who are concerned about the price for a game that is a consumable product, it is worth it. Think of it like a movie or theater... 12+ evenings of good gameplay that draws you in and makes you feel like you are managing resources in a post-apocalyptic world.

Super intense game but great for anyone a fan of the Pandemic series. Be aware thou, it is a play once only game as components do get ripped and destroyed... so make the right choices. Can't wait to play the next month this weekend!

Most recommended for the ones that have already played "season 1". Slightly different mechanisms, but also very enjoyable and ideal for lockdowns or two people to go through it. Might appear expensive but considering that you will play the game at least 14-16 times (to finish it), I would still consider it excellent value for money. At the end of the day how many times have you played the latest board game you bought for half as much money?
