Fun speedy game with lots of variations
We had really enjoyed playing the original game with my adult family members and decided to buy this version for the different menu variations. The cards and board seem to be of good quality, and the different menu options provide for lots of variations. It's also great that the board has a point counting system on it rather than keeping score on paper. We found our preferred combinations, and really liked that there were different choices to avoid growing tired of the same game. Lots of fun, and gameplay is generally quite quick, which suits our family. My 8 year old would find this a little challenging for them because there are so many types of cards that have different point scoring and objectives, but I could see some kids at 8+ being able to play this.

Highly recommend the party version of this classic card drafting game!
This game is so much fun for all the family! Simple card drafting concept but with different scoring abilities depending on which Sushi cards are picked for each ‘meal’ (aka game!). The Sushi Go Party is a bigger version of the popular Sushi Go game. It may be less portable due to the bigger size, but the ability to play up to 8 players and to vary the game play each time is a huge advantage over the original. The game can also vary in complexity and strategy depending on the cards you choose for each game so can be adapted based on the players - when we are involving our 9 &11 year olds, we tend to pick the less ‘mean’ cards to save any tears but can add them back in when it’s just the more competitive teens and adults!! Fun artwork, great replayability and a nice sturdy storage tin- all in all highly recommended for any gathering.

A fun game for all the family
This is a great game with lots of replay value. I have played this many times with my wife and two kids. It can be enjoyed by most ages. Basically you have to collect various dishes which will be worth amounts set by the recipes set at the start of the game. You can set up quite a few different recipes which gives plenty of variety. As the round progresses, you take one card from the deck and the pass the deck to the left. It’s a nice inclusive game where you have a lot of fun shouting ‘go sushi!’ and seeing who scored the most each round. The artwork looks nice and colourful. Print quality is good. The box is sturdy and still looks strong even though we’ve played this many times. It’s quick to learn and play too.

A definite hit
I already had the original sushi go game and had been bemoaning the lack of any expansions and then this came out! I couldn't believe my good fortune. I love games but my friends and family are not always so keen so I was unsure about the reception it would receive. It was a complete and utter hit - everyone loved it from all generations. It is incredibly easy to learn so is suitable for all ages and skill levels but the beauty of the 'party' version is that, unlike the original you can customise the game so that it never gets dull or predictable. We have tried all of the 'menus' suggested in the instructions and have also tried a few of our own and this has really kept it exciting. As well as the wider selection of cards (with great illustrations) the party version comes with a handy scoring board. This makes it much easier to keep track of who is winning but also allows you to show which card types are in play - very useful for new or forgetful players. The only negative really is the tin. There aren't enough inserts to keep all of the cards in their separate groups. Doesn't affect game play at all but is a bit of a shame with what is otherwise one of the best thought out games in my collection.

Fast, Fun, Cute & Good quality!
I love this game! i played it once at my frie d's place and immediately purchased this one after. The cards are of good quality, drawings of the sushi are super cute, and the game is fast and easy to learn. Also, I like the fsct that it comes in a tin bix with card dividers However, the card slots are different from what I saw on the picture in another review here so I was a bit dissappointed by that. My card dividers just came with 7 slots: - 1x appetizers - 1x specials - 1x Dessert - 1x Nigiri - 1x rolls - 2x extras Also the order of these "slots" didn't follow the order of the board, and the slot for 'specials' can't hold all the vards + card boards. So Gamewright could improve on that. However, I am still happy since the Dutch version of this game doesn't provide cardslots at all. All in all, I recommend to purchase this game instead of the regular version/card version since it adds more diversity to your gameplay.

While it may take a bit of effort to learn due to its variety and richer gameplay experience, it's well worth it. Having someone introduce you to the game and explain the rules while playing a practice round with strategy and logic tips is helpful. That's exactly how it happened for us. Once we familiarized ourselves with the standard Sushi Go rules (from the small pack), playing became incredibly enjoyable. When I stumbled upon an offer for the game at a better price than offline shops, I immediately ordered it for our family and friends. Now we can experience an even greater variety of cards and explore different strategies. I want to highlight two things: Our 5-year-old son can play and has even won several times! Although there are some cards and logic that he still struggles with, he handles the game as well as our almost 9-year-old son and often outplays him. It's interesting to observe that each player develops their own unique strategy, favorite card combinations, and preferences. I also tend to stick to the same strategy, so it's important to remind ourselves to mix things up and try different gameplays. Occasionally, we even throw in one or two extra special cards to make the game even crazier. I want to express my gratitude to the inventors of this game for creating such a treasure. It truly captivates both adults and children alike, making it a fantastic addition to our collection.

So much fun. GameWright did the right thing releasing a expanded version that allowed multiple levels of complexity, according with how hardcore the players are. Don't like the stress? Play using the basic cards. Guaranteed fun for all family and friends.

This is a really nice pick&pass game. If you enjoy 7 Wonders but wish you had a gap-filler version of it, this is it. With the Party-box there's lots of variety too, which is what I was missing in the main game. Basically what happens is this: You get a hand of sushi cards. Each turn, you pick one to use, place it in front of you, then after revealing and placing it (all players do this simultaneously), you pass the remaining cards to the next player, getting some from the player on your other side in turn. Rinse and repeat, like a sushi belt moving on with the items. Each card has separate rules for scoring, printed on the cards. Some give flat points, some count only in sets of 3, some you need the most of, etc. As you have to judge what to take and what to pass on based on what the next player down the line is going for, there's a fairly decent amount of tactics in such a short game, and it's just fun to play and everyone can be easily brought on with the adorable little faces on the cards and the easy rules. Two things to complain, but they're so minor it's still 5/5: * A tin box. Absolutely loathe them. Dent constantly, get bent out of shape, don't stack well at all. * American board game size cards, instead of standard size. Makes sleeving a bit more tricky and you *definitely* want to sleeve this, because one type of card is used every play so players would be able to tell from the wear which is which.
