Kitchen Measuring Set

I bought this product as a gift for a family member after realising she was judging measurements by eye and not always getting exact quantities. The cups were delivered quickly, they are a really attractive design and the markings are clear enough to be seen. Being stackable, they take up hardly any space in a drawer and the attached measurements chart is extremely useful. There are many similar products on the marketplace, I know from when I was scrolling through Amazon to find a set I liked. I chose these because the price was attractive, there were no unnecessary sizes and I did like the design - far better than the measuring cups I use so I might just have to order another set, this time for myself. Easily recommended and no kitchen should be without them.

I wanted some of these for the occasional American recipe that was in cups and looked and looked and couldn't decide which ones to get - mainly because there are so many variations on what a cup actually measures! After reading around, these seem to have all the correct measurements - they aren't too expensive and Tala are a reliable make. Since buying them I use them SO much! Not just for american recipes. I use the one cup and half cup ones for porridge making - scoops the oats nicely and it is much easier to measure out the milk and water and get the quantities right - one cup of oats and 2 and a half of liquid makes porridge for 3 people (or 3 bears). So - they're not just for measuring, they're just handy for scooping things, putting small amounts of ingredients in, and easy to wash up. I kept them on the ring for a short while but stopped bothering as I just wanted them handy to use, so now they're just chucked into the cupboard inside a pyrex bowl and along with other bowls and dishes, and it's easy to pick out the right one just looking at them. I recently made a birthday cake that used cups for measuring, and after measuring the ingredients into the cup I then weighed/measured the cup contents to convert it into ounces and grammes - as a friend asked me for the recipe - so they're useful for that too. Don't bother with the expensive fancy ones - these do the job nicely!

I use a lot of recipes I find online but often, the ingredient measurements are listed in American cups. Trying to convert these into milligrams is often difficult, time-consuming and highly inaccurate. I purchased this measuring cup set in an effort to take the guesswork out of baking. I'm so glad I did! Easy to clean, well made, clearly marked and neatly nestling into each other for storage, these really are ideal and make measuring in 'cups' a doddle. They can be used for either dry or liquid ingredients. These really have made cooking much quicker and easier with the overall results much better too due to the accuracy. I would give these 4 stars from a potential 5. Although I am truly happy with them, the ring they are all housed on is solid which means you can not remove individual cups. Trying to measure with the rest of the cups still attached to the ring can be awkward and results in spills if you aren't careful. They're just a little too large and bulky to be constantly attached the same way measuring spoons are in my opinion. In spite of my criticisms, I would still recommend this product to other shoppers. I have had these Tala Measuring cups for a little over 4 years and now ordered another set. So I can speak for their durability, I find it best to remove the ring and only use this for storing the cups. When I have finished with them I just put them through the dishwasher (putting the prongs through the holes and fitting the cover back over the top as they do have a tendency to flip over and fill up), they have never dis-coloured or gone brittle, so I would presume these are dishwasher safe. The last set of these that I bought were 240ml/1cup =English Measures The 1st ones I have are American 237ml/1cup. I have learned there is no Difference to the outcome of the recipe if you use All English Measures on an American recipe remember Fluid measures are slightly different to dry measures (only slightly to check the accuricy of any cup or jug pop the on scales calibrate it fill with water to desired quantity and weigh out 240ml should weigh 240g, 15ml should weigh 15g) Just make sure you use all English or all american cup measures and your cakes will turn out just fine. There are generally alot of eggs in american cakes so you don't need to add extra soda/baking soda (bicarb/ baking powder)as eggs are a raising agent. I find my fingers better than the egg separator as sometimes the yolk slides through the vents bursting as it hits the bowl (especially small eggs) but other than that they are super. I tend to use my fingers instead of the leveller too, the weights and measures on it come in handy especially when baking with the children, Which is why I have just bought another set. As they both like to measure the ingredients out together it'll save arguments.

Very handy cup measurements. The egg separator is very good. I like that I can hang up the cups by the ring. However I’d like to be able to take them off the ring, which is closed permanently - this would make it easier to handle and wash the cups. Edit: the ring does open - but it took a few weeks and lots of use to get it open! It wasn’t easy, but now … problem solved. 😄

Die Qualität der Cups gefällt mir und es ist sehr hilfreich beim Backen. Damit ist meines Erachtens alles was man braucht abgedeckt. Das Produkt wurde schnell geliefert und in der Weihnachtsbäckerei ein sehr guter Helfer. Seitdem nutze ich sie jedesmal, um Rezepte mit Cup Angaben umzusetzen.

Je suis très satisfaite de cet achat. Ayant vécu aux USA, je souhaite de temps à autres faire des recettes de là-bas. Avec ce set de "cups" je n'ai plus d'excuse! Les mesures sont justes et le produit est résistant (aux chocs et à l'eau très chaude pour le lavage). Petit plus sympa: la plaquette de conversion pratique. Par contre je ne parviens pas à me servir du séparateur d'oeuf mais je n'ai pas fait cet achat pour ça non-plus. Je recommande cet article.
