Fantastic product
I etched my frame in 3 places and my forks with the 4th. I would get at least one additional alcohol wipe in addition to the one provided. I followed the instructions and all 4 worked a treat - I had to buy a cheap low cost UC torch to prove they had worked - all perfect and cannot be seen on my frame without UV. With the micro dots I really went to town, I used the brush to get the dots out of the tube and applied each one with a bit of the glue provided with a cocktail stick - this made zero mess, it took a while but every single external component on the bike has at least one dot on it. It took a while but very satisfied - the UV torch shows where they are. The registration was simple too and I downloaded 2 photos of the bike. I was also able to add lots of detail about the bike. I am very happy with the datatag pro system - worth getting the pro for the dots.

Easy to use
Product packaging is easy to open, clear instructions and easy to use. The only reason I’ve given it 4 stars is the microdot liquid is quite visible when applied and the microdots can stick around the top of the bottle and you have to make sure they are in suspension when applying. In the products defence it does state that the liquid may be visible after application. The etching is very good, easy to apply, easy to use and not too visible at all afterwards. Under ultraviolet it stands out well.Website is not the easiest to use, make sure you have all the information to hand before setting up your account, I haven’t worked out how to add stuff to it once created and registered.Hopefully if the bike ever gets stolen I’ve got a better than average chance of it being recovered.Note, this does not mean you shouldn’t always secure your bike with a good quality lock!!

Quality Deterrent
Having recently purchased an expensive ebike I decided on a multi-level security approach. I have Datatag on another one of my bikes, but this sets differs as this one does not include a transponder, but does include UV etching fluid and microdots. The UV etching fluid is easy to apply using the stick on stencils provided. Apply the liquid fairly sparingly though. The microdots are suspended in some sort of glue so you can mark all your accessories and fittings like wheels, handlebars, brake levers etc. Don't forget to stick the Datag sticker onto the bike to deter thieves, then register the serial number with Datatag. The security can be transferred to someone else if you sell the bike.I would recommend that you buy a UV torch so that you can check your stencilling handy work. I bought one on here for under a tenner.I bought this from Amazon because it was 66% of the recommended price. Everyone else seemed to be selling it at RRP.If you want the kit with the transponder look at the mortorcycle kit, but it is more likely that a copper will have access to a UV torch than "transponder reader".Remember that this is just one level of security. It is well worth buying a decent lock, either lock and chain or U-lock, and locking your bike to something solid. There is plenty of security advice available on the web, especially on YouTube.

It's good but buy more alcohol wipes first.
Applied easily enough. The UV etching - if you want it to be invisible then fully follow instructions with alcohol wipes. However only one is supplied and this quickly dried up. Therefore I would recommend you get more alcohol wipes before you embark. I only had antibacterial wipes to hand so used these for the second and third stickers - but they haven't gone invisible same as the one with alcohol wipes did.The anti theft sticker went on easily enough. However I was disappointed with the micro dots. They're suspended in glue and you paste them onto your target. The glue dries clear but certainly not invisibly - the end result is what you would imagine if you applied super glue to your frame. It's all about security though and I feel my bike is now significantly less appealing to thieves which was the overall idea so I'm happy hence 4 stars.Hopefully I'll never find out how useful it is to aid recovery!

Hope I never need it
Great bit of kit bought for my road bike. Applied the uv etch to carbon frame and fork made a perfectly clear and readable etch that visibly disappeared with the use of the provided alcohol wipe. The visible ID sticker is great and will likely act as a deterrent but I would have liked a larger sticker with a more explicit warning to thieves. Not sure how "worth it" the pro kit is over the normal kit, it's 10 quid more expensive just for the data dots to mark components. Suppose if your compenents are hella expensive an extra tenner isn't much.

Great Technology but
Great technology in this kit, but the company that makes it Datatag Website is like something from early 2000s outdated user interface and the whole process or registering clunky. How is this a thing its 2021 invest some money updating your website and setup process

The tag you need
I have these on my bike and the datatag glue means I tagged all other removable parts on my bike, (and my phone!) Has stopped my bike being stripped, I didn't tag the drinks cage and that got stolen but everything else stayed. Must have for bike owners.

Datatag Security
A good security measure for your cycle. Microdots were fairly easy to apply. The stencils stick well to clean surfaces but be careful not to overload the applicator with the UV paint as it can get behind the stencil and cause smudging. I thought I was being careful with this until I used a UV torch to read the data and some bleed was apparent on the numbers, luckily with several stencils applied the complete details of the registration are readable. I just hope the Police use UV torches if my bike is ever stolen and recovered !
