My cloud 8 straighteners died after 8 years . These are better and a fraction of the price! Really smooth plates, great temperature range, long cable - highly recommend especially for fine hair 💪 I bought a pair that had an opened box from Amazon warehouse as I was in a hurry to receive and the new new pair were on a delayed delivery. They are perfect - just the box that was a bit trashed but who cares!!

Amazing straighteners. My previous Remington straighteners packed up on Sunday. I didn’t realise there was an intermittent fault, thought it was me being cack handed and turning them on/off!! They’done well as they lasted on the cusp of 5 years, so no complaints and good value for money. Choosing a replacement model wasn’t easy. I didn’t want to spend a fortune, but wanted good quality. After reading all the reviews I selected these. They arrived next day. I have fine, wiry and naturally borderline Afro curls. A pain to maintain when wearing straight. Used the straighteners for the first time this morning and WOW my hair looks as though I’ve been to the salon before work! Absolutely delighted with these straighteners. They are slim, a good length plate and lightweight - lighter and slimmer than my previous Remingtons, making them easier to use. I would highly recommend these. I’d say a very close match to my original GHDs.

Now where do I start - I’ve only ever had GHD’s. Had 3 lots over the years. So I’m very much GHD pro. Bought these cus mine had broken and I was waiting to see if they could be fixed. So bought these as a quick fix and also because they were very cheap but had amazing reviews on them. I found them amazing too. Didn’t have any of the slight review complaints as previous people did - didn’t smell because they were new. Heat control didn’t move, so didn’t overheat and get too hot. I would easily pay much more for these if id had tested them first. Unbelievable price, for a really good quality and performance item. Not going to buy any more ghd’s. These will certainly do me. Only difference I could find was, these are lighter than GHD’s, not a problem though. Could even be a plus for them. So a quick rundown - they straightened as fast as GHD’s. The end look was definitely as good. They’re as easy to use as any other ones. They heat up and are as hot as GHD’s. My hair stayed straight all day and night. They also come with a protective bag for them to cool down in. I flipping LOVED them. You could definitely buy and use them as your best set, but at this price you could buy them for spares or a travel set 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟

Having had to send my ghd's off for repair, I needed to get a cheap pair of straighteners while I was waiting for them to be returned. I picked these ones. The straighteners come with a handy felt case to put them in after using and it has a bit of velcro on, to hold the cord which is nicer than having the cord every where. The straighteners have a lock switch, which needs pushing in quite hard or they'll just open again. There's also an on/off switch rather than a button, this helps avoid accidently turning the things off. I also like the temperature control. When switching on, they heat up really quickly on the coolest setting, which is still quite hot as I stupidly caught my fingers on the plates. I did turn them up to the hottest setting after a bit, but turned them down again as I felt they were too hot for my hair. I've had a bad experience in the past with straighteners over heating and burning off a clump of my hair. Even though I didn't have them on full, they straightened my hair super quick! I'm not really one for sectioning my hair little bit by little bit, I'm a "straighten big clumps" kinda girl, so I was suprised at how quick it took and the result, especially as I usually end up with a natural kink, which is hard to straighten, still there. I didn't even have that. The only reason I didn't give 5 stars, is because of the smell. I'm sure all new straighteners have it, but the smell when they first heat up is quite strong, although it didn't make my hair smell. This might wear off with more use though. Will I go back to my ghd's when I get them back? To be honest, I'm not sure. I never thought I'd say that as I wasn't expecting anything amazing for £20 straighteners, but I'm very tempted to stick with these ones. I'll have to give them a few more uses then decide. UPDATE 11-1-2018 I'm still using them and they're still working great. Over Christmas I took my ghd's to visit the family. They felt chunky and awkward compared to the Remington's. I'm also pleased to say, the smell has gone, so it must have just been a "new" smell you get with some products. One thing I will say is that it's easy to accidently turn up the heat on the Remington's, but you can get around that by holding them with the dial to the opposite side, so not really a problem. In conclusion, I'm sticking with these! EDIT 2 (20/11/2018) Over a year on and these are still going strong, still great and I've still not gone back to the GHD's. EDIT 3 (13/10/2019) I'm still using them! I still prefer these over my GHD's! At the price they are now, you'd be crazy to not get them!

The straightener is very strong and high quality. Does the job perfectly. It has a cover which is great because it prevents burns on carpet or table etc. also, it has a safety button that releases the two sides/blades of it. Highly recommended! Best results.

So far I’m impressed I got these for me 11 year old daughter, starting high school she wanted to straighten her hair and I didn’t want to spend massive amounts considering her age and her first set of straighteners. I looked up a lot of hair straighteners, read reviews, made sure the brand was well known, the price was low and in my opinion these were the best. They heat up pretty quick, it has a little on and off slider switch and it flashes blue when it’s either too low in heat or when it’s heating up, as soon as it’s hot enough it stops flashing and stays blue. they didn’t have a bad smell, the heat adjustment is great as my daughters hair isn’t used to heat. I blow dried each section first as I went along and started off on a low heat with the straighteners then turned it up hotter as I went along and as soon as it reached a heat that worked for her hair I kept it there it didn’t need to be up full heat, my daughter is mixed so her hair is naturally curly and has a corse texture too it but soft at the same time, it’s medium thickness so if you’re looking and you or the person you are looking for has curly hair with a similar hair type then the straighteners did a pretty good job. For the price they are brilliant straighteners, they didn’t snag or pull any hair out as I made sure I used the full plate instead of just the tip of it where it seems to catch and pull with most straighteners from what I’ve used before. They were smooth going through her hair from root to tip, as long as I kept brushing through her hair with one hand and straighteners in the other they would just glide through nicely. So far I recommend these straighteners and I will update in a couple of months or if something goes wrong. 28th May 2021 Had to send the first set back after a couple of week as one plate was loose (didn’t affect the straighteners they still worked great) got sent a second pair with in days and they have been absolutely perfect. Still working beautifully 8 month on and she uses them at least once a week so even if they did break they have had a good run given the price. Still recommend these straighteners. 27th April 2022 Still amazing would 100% recommend Thought I’d give another update (last one) December 11 2024 they still work great but my daughter stopped using them to embrace her natural curls (glad she’s grown out of the straight hair phase) any way still 100% recommend 🤌🏽

These may not be the best for fine hair. They do heat up quickly and get very hot. Even on 150° one of the plates read 178° when I checked it which is way too hot for my fine hair and risks drying out or causing heat damage. I am not a new hair straightener so know the difference. It also seems to leave your hair very lank and flat.Bit disappointed
