How do you turn on the stove on?

you screw the tripod to the right gas canister, (which you have to buy separate) and there is a tap on the side of the tripod that opens the valve, to release the gas, once the gas is being released light it. you can determine the strength of your flame by turning the tap clockwise or anticlockwise. hope this helps.

Does a gas canister fit inside the nesting pans as well as all the other items?

Yes it does. Everything fits into the pans and then into a handy carrying net. We even found room for some plastic cutlery and small salt and pepper set inside the pans.

Is there a drinking cup that could be bought separately

Mine came with a steel cup and sleeve to stop you burning ya hands.

Hi Luigi, judging by a quick Google search the stove will fit an MSR cartridge. It fits onto gas cartridges with the small threaded nipple, for example I use a Coleman C100 cartridge with my stove.
