Overpriced, but so handy to have in the knife case.
It seems stupid to pay nearly £3 for a pin, but I couldn't find a similar match at my local Hobby craft store and after my last one bent I realised just how much I used it, so I had to may the ransom money! It is way overpriced for what it is and it may or may not be a genuine product, but it fits into my penknife and I had to use it the first day I had it. If I use it as much as I did my last one and it lasts, then it will be worth it. The flat head is easy enough to pry out of the handle with a fingernail. I would like to give it 1 star for the price, but the price is clearly stated. The pin itself is as good as the one I damaged and it fits perfectly, thus I am giving it 5 stars.

Perfect for Swiss Army Knife (SAK ) with Special shells
For Swiss Army Knives which have a "Special Shell" Underneath where the cork screw is located there is a small hole to accept a steel pin. Special shells usually have a steel pin there but some dont Standard Huntsman SAK has a hole for a pin but no Pin Now you are going to say you can buy a box of pins and simply put one in the hole of any Swiss Army Knife that has a place for a pin in the "special shells" Yes you can and That is what I did while I didn't have one of these. The thing is that they generally will go in the hole but don't fit so well. I had to tug on the pin quite hard to get it out and pushing it in was the same. I had the feeling do that too much and it would not hold it in place properly as the hole would be made wider by forcing the pin The Swiss Army steel pin simply fits the hole perfectly so you can pull it out easily and put it back in easily without effort but it won't fall out on it's own or force the hole to become wider . Having a steel pin available is handy to have .

Beware before you buy
I’d expected a pin moulded to fit my penknife. What was supplied was a basic standard pin. Feel like I’ve been ripped off to be honest.

Small but useful addition to the multi-tool
I wasn't aware that these pins existed until I saw a video on YouTube on must have gadgets and they mentioned that some knives came with a pin hole but generally the pin wasn't included. Yes, you could slot another pin into the hole, but the likelihood is that it wouldn't fit or it wouldn't come out. Not cheap for what it is, but it's a great addition to the knife along with the tweezers and pick.

Useful insert for various Swiss Army knives
Good little pin that slots nicely into a concealed hole hidden by the corkscrew , in some but not all Swiss Army Knives. A useful practical addition to add to your knife.

It's just a pin - but.......
Okay – it is only a pin. And it is pretty expensive for just one pin. I know these things. But this one has taken a bit of searching for. It is pretty thick for a pin and it fits my SAK very well. How useful it will actually be remains to be seen – I await my first splinter - but in the meantime I’m glad to have it with me. Can’t really say much more about a pin, even a rather thick one.
