DHP484Z 18V Li-Ion LXT Brushless Combi Drill - Batteries and Charger Not Included

Wow! What an effing drill! This device is simply the best 18V drill money can buy. If you already have the Makita 18V Li ion system then if your existing drill gives up the ghost then upgrade to this beauty. As a plumber, my day can be spent drilling into mostly either wood, brick or concrete. This drill, with a charged battery and a good drill bit is the Dog's RFB's (round furry bits). I'm not now reaching for the corded sds for pipe clip setting in concrete. In addition, no need to get my corded Makita percussion drill for 25mm auger bits when doing pipe runs through joists. Watch out though, the torque on this little beast is phenomenal. Even in gear setting 2 (fast speed) it will want to rip your hand out of it socket. So I might yet invest in the strangely oversized handle for this thing? My last Makita 18V (BHP 452) had its severe material limitations. So far this drill is out performing that by a long way and as mentioned has restricted the occasions I need to reach for a corded device. I obviously already had the 18V Li ion battery system so this was a natural upgrade. That being said I would not use this for drilling any thing larger than 12 or 13mm holes in brick or block. For two reasons; firstly, as mentioned the torque is so great, without a handle and a clutch mechanism this device would in my opinion be dangerous and secondly, I don't intend to abuse the drill for tasks that are either outside of its design threshold or very close to it. This for any type of electrical device will shorten its life span. Consequently, if it lasts as long as the old BHP 452 I will be able to get at least 5 years regular ( that means every day in my case) use out if it. By that time, according to how BBC Watchdog portray the plumbing industry, I should have urinated in enough cold water storage tanks in peoples lofts, taken 80 hours to fit a flush handle and unblocked a drain charging £8,000. Which should have paid for the device by then.....unless of course I'm not charging enough! If your a trade and use hand drills, this is the one to get. If your a DiYer then still get this and imagine that your a qualified and knowledgeable tradesman equipped with the know-how to do your own bathroom. You won't be. But at least every hole you drill and screw you fit (incorrectly) will give you a semi!

Excellent little combi drill at a price point way cheaper than Screwfix and others. Nicely balanced even with a 5amp battery attached. Does what it says on the tin. Better than my old DeWalt combi.

VERY strong brand. I have a vast kit so will always replace with same tools as too expensive to change completely. These are not cheap and prices are constantly increasing so if starting out make your own choice but I would recommend

I have build my entire tool kit on the Makita platform so I have certain expectations! Let me first say that the drill arrived on time, well packaged with no visible signs of any damage. I am very impressed with this little drill. The brushless motor provides ample power and torque. Just to test it out I drilled out a mortise lock for a fire door! I ate through the door without even struggling a little and didn't flatten the battery. Its fairly small in the hand & lightweight but I can tell its very well built. I would think this is definitely fit for professional use, but at a DIY price - Makita Quality!

Arrivato in poco più di mezza giornata, grazie a Prime, in una scatola di cartone che contiene il trapano avvitatore DHP484Z , il manuale d'uso in inglese, un inserto a taglio misura 2 e a croce Phillips misura 2 e la belt clip per agganciarlo alla cinghia dei pantaloni quando si deve magari salire una scala dovendo avere quindi le mani libere; suddetta scatola è inserita in una scatola più grande ,robusta ,ben coibentata con filler e col logo Amazon . Si presenta immediatamente robusto, nella meccanica interna in metallo , la presa è eccezionalmente ergonomica e piacevole per via delle comode guancette in gomma. Il trapano avvitatore a percussione DHP484Z ,ha due velocità meccaniche , la 2 ,più veloce e adatta alla foratura semplice o con percussione ( 0 - 2.000 rpm - 30.000 impatti al minuto con funzione percussione, momento di torsione 30 N*m ) , e la 1, più lenta e indicata per l'avvitatura ( 0 - 500 rpm, momento di torsione 60 N*m ) . Acquistato fondamentalmente per aver un avvitatore in quanto il vecchio ha ceduto , mi sento di indicarlo per lavori di hobbystica anche professionali come forare qualsiasi materiale e avvitare viti o bulloni di entità media; Per le operazioni di avvitatura più sostenuta è più adatto magari il modello DHP481Z ,top di gamma nel segmento ,oppure il Makita DTW285Z come nel mio caso per avvitare / svitare bulloni molto grandi e resistenti ( oltre la tipologia bulloni dei pneumatici per intendersi ) . La foratura a percussione dei materiali lapidei o del calcestruzzo è agevole, benché non ci si debbano aspettare le prestazioni di un trapano tassellatore ,per piccoli fori nel muro è più che valido ,intendiamoci , ma per opere superiori ,più impegnative come forature multiple in pareti portanti o in massetti di calcestruzzo mi affido al DHR242, mentre per la foratura del metallo con diametri di punte superiori ai 7 mm ,utilizzo l' HP2071. A mio avviso Makita rimane sempre una garanzia negli attrezzi da lavoro , il prezzo pagato è sicuramente sinonimo di qualità e durata nel tempo , come il motore senza spazzole , praticamente un must per gli attrezzi moderni che necessitano di controllo preciso della maggior potenza erogata rispetto ai motori a carboncini che col tempo perdono in prestazioni e pongono il fastidioso problema della generazione di scintille per il normale funzionamento . Riassumendo: PREGI: Il motore brushless offre potenza e lunga durata, la coppia che genera è sufficientemente elevata per i lavori di casa ,consuma molta meno batteria rispetto agli avvitatori con motore a carboncini ,non disperdendo energia in attrito. Ottimo prodotto per lavori di piccola e media entità , robusto e maneggevole ,si adatta alle batterie della serie XPT / LXT a 18V . Il mandrino gira perfettamente in asse ,la chiusura è più che stabile nonostante quanto potessi immaginare per la sua costruzione in plastica, la luce led illumina abbondantemente la zona di lavoro ,il grilletto discretamente sensibile anche per regolare la velocità di rotazione nella marcia veloce. Non è leggerissimo, ed è un pregio quando lo si utilizza per forare materiali un po' più tenaci, infatti è opinione comune ( e a mio avviso più che corretta ) che un attrezzo più pesante sia anche più efficace ,robusto e funzionale. DIFETTI: Al momento nessuno , sarà mia premura aggiornare questa recensione qualora si presentassero problemi. CONCLUSIONI: Sarà apprezzato per gli hobby creativi e dai professionisti per i lavori medio-leggeri , utile ricordare di registrare il proprio prodotto Makita acquistato qui su Amazon sul sito mymakita seguendo le istruzioni riportate per estendere a tre anni la garanzia totale . Der Akkuschrauber ist ein guter und kräftiger Begleiter zu einem günstigen Preis – vorausgesetzt, man besitzt bereits die Akkus und das Ladegerät. Er ist kompakt, leicht und sehr gut verarbeitet. Das Bohrfutter sitzt fest, eiert nicht und hat kaum Spiel. Die Gangwahl sowie die Verstellung am Bohrfutter lassen sich kinderleicht bedienen. Der Brushless Motor ist definitiv ein Vorteil gegenüber herkömmlichen Kohlebürstenmotoren, was die Leistung und Langlebigkeit betrifft. PS: Wenn man die Maschine bei Makita registriert, erhält man ein zusätzliches Jahr Garantie – auch wenn ich dies privat bisher noch nie in Anspruch nehmen musste. (Gewerblich gab es schon einige Male Probleme, die aber immer problemlos gelöst wurden.) Insgesamt eine klare Empfehlung!
