I am a child of the 80's. The main hair products available at that time were mousse and gel. Anything with at least an 'extra, extra' hold rating would suffice! Gel came in a variety of colours which had no effect on your hair whatsoever, and I would put about as much as i could onto my head to ensure a nice thick covering to maintain the 'wet look' all day. You could have dropped a bowling ball onto my head and it would of cracked in two. Then came wax, and hair didnt have to look wet all day. Suddenly the idea of 'less is more' became popular, a a standard tin would last months instead of days. In more recent years we have been treated to 'putty, mud and paste'. Thus far I have refrained from applying mud to my hair, but I do like to keep abreast of new and innovative hair products, while I still have hair to style. I saw a couple of videos of people applying texturizing powder and being the modern man I had to try it for myself. The bottle arrived and the first thing I noticed was how much space was left in the container. Yes, the description says its 20 grams but the bottle could probably hold 50. I liberally dusted my hand with the powder and rubbed it into my palms as instructed. I was hoping for something that wouldn't leave my hands as sticky as wax did, but the powder quickly turns into a paste which you then run through your hair and style as normal. Once in however, it doesnt leave your hair feeling sticky. My hair is quite thick so I am always looking for something that gives it a bit more style rather than looking like a solid mass on my head. The product itself works quite well and I was able to style some definition into my fringe, and was able to rework throughout the day. It doesn't provide a firm hold so the wind is its natural enemy but again, a quick ruffle with my fingers and it returned to formation. My main gripe would be the amount you get. Assuming you use 1 gram per use (more if you want more definition), the bottle will last less than 3 weeks. I have tubs of wax that are still half full after several months. So it comes down to weather or not the extra cost is offset by superior styling. Personally I did like the product, but I dont think I can justify the cost to sit in an office all day with fabulously styled hair. I may save it, and break it out for special occasions.

This is an expensive hair product v the high street however the quality and feel of the product is great. It makes your hair look styled without the greasy / wet look. More like a surfer style hair product, really worth the money and seems to last an age!

Decent powder

I've been using slick gorilla hair styling powder for a while now. Honestly this started when I was noticing that using other products like waxes, gels, mousse or clays seemed to put stress on my hair when styling and also washing afterwards. Being a male in my 30s I noticed a little hair more hair loss that usual with these products. One day at the barbers, my barber used a styling powder, I tried a couple and then found slick gorilla, this applies super easy and doesn't feel like it puts any stress on my hair whilst styling but still has a great hold for the day. When it comes to washing, water alone seems great at pulling the product out of my hair, needless to say I feel like this helped with hair loss. These 20ml tubs go a long way, I use it daily and it can honestly last me anywhere between 3-6 months. For the price this is absolutely brilliant. I'll keep buying time and time again.

Auswaschen klappt ohne Aufwand. Rückstände oder ein beschwerendes Gefühl konnte ich nicht feststellen. Die Verträglichkeit war ebenfalls unproblematisch; keine Reizungen oder trockene Kopfhaut. Positiv ist zudem, dass das Produkt vegan und parabenfrei formuliert ist. Das spielt im Alltag keine Rolle für die Performance, ist aber ein sauberer Zusatzpunkt. Fazit: Ein zuverlässiges Stylingpuder, das Volumen, Struktur und anhaltenden Halt liefert, ohne das Haar zu beschweren. Für meinen Gebrauch erfüllt es alle Erwartungen.

Excellent: 1) the volume is smaller than I expected, but I haven't ran out of it after two months use 2) the product works as described, easy to apply and style your hair with it 3) it's not as sticky and smelly as hair gel and hair wax 4) the downside of this product is the time for shipment. It takes about two weeks to ship it to Canada (maybe because it was from UK?)
