works and measure as intended

These really do measure 3/16" diameter with 1-1/2" of clear length between the detent ball and the pull ring. They worked easily to connect the telescoping seat struts of my Rans F5 Enduro and two variants of Bacchetta Giro recumbent bike seats, although they are longer than necessary for that; they only need to have 3/4" clear to work with the Rans struts and 5/8" for the Bacchettas. The Rans seat also uses longer pins to secure the seat bracket to the clamp on the frame. The seat bracket has a slot forming ears that fit over a round bolt head, with 3/16" holes drilled through the ears of the bracket so that these pins can lock the bracket in place over the bolt head. I needed these as well, which is why I bought a set of four of the longer length. It was a very tight fit in those holes; they are slightly smaller than the holes in the seat struts. I reamed them a little with a 3/16" drill (which already fit through, but still took a little metal off as I pumped it in and out) and lubricated the pins with light machine oil. I didn't want to drill oversize to 13/64", which was the next larger drill bit that I have. I still had to lightly tap them with a hammer to get them through, and it is difficult (but possible) to pull them out by hand. It was also difficult but possible to install them without tapping by using a penny to distribute the force over a larger area of my thumb. I noticed that one of the pins had a tiny metal shard attached from drilling the hole for the wire pull ring. I was able to remove that with my fingernail, so no big deal.
