Great bit of kit.
Great bit of kit, my 10 year old girl loves it. Some reviewers have said they think it's a bit pricy, but I think it's priced correctly.Tangram is a lot of fun and with its 4 levels will keep kids occupied for ages.Masterpiece is also lots of fun if initially a bit hard for my little girl, but now (1 week on) she is much more confident with it and is bombarding via E-mail family and friends with sketches she's made with it. Very clever App.Words App, for the moment is not a winner as my little girls first language is French and it's not always clear what the answer is, let alone then having to translate that into English.Numbers App, don't know as the OSMO I bought didn't include the pieces for that game. I thought I was buying the full kit, but obviously not.In hind sight I guess STARTER KIT was a good clue.

Great educational app to get children from age 5 up playing in the physical world as well as on screen.
Brilliant toy! This product has 5 different games/apps associated with it, all of which get children playing in the physical world as well as using the screen. You quickly get through a lot of paper with Monster, Newton and Masterpiece so I'd recommend a white board but the games are so good for drawing skills and confidence and Newton is so clever (drawing lines etc on paper that the balls on screen bounce off). This is the best way I've seen to play Tangram for a child as they get the feedback of whether they're getting it right but still get to hold the pieces in their hands (unlike an app alone). My son is only 5 and has had so much fun with this already. We haven't played Words as much yet as he's a bit young but it'll be a great one too as his vocabulary grows. Also, fantastic that it can be played with 2 players.Really educational and great fun for all the family. The only drawback is having to get the iPad out of its case each time but it's worth it. It also took me a little while to figure out how to change the stand from a large iPad to a mini iPad stand - it is possible though so works for all sizes (iPad 2 upwards) I believe.

Brilliant idea but Tangrams causes problems.
I was suckered into buying this Osmo by an advert I saw, and as I currently home educate our children, I thought I'd give it a go. As a concept, it's really good and, on the whole, it works well. The Tangram game is the second favourite of my 3, but this is where my review loses a star. The camera seems to have real trouble picking up where the pieces are on the table. We use as blank a space as we can, we try to lessen any glare, but it always pops up with a little screen asking us to move the pieces down. When we first got it, it worked really well, but about a month ago it started mucking about and the children find it really frustrating to be working on a shape, only find the screen constantly flashing up with a request to move the pieces down, even though they're already nearly tumbling off the table. The pieces are lovely and tactile though, not tacky plastic so they are fun to move around and arrange. The spelling game is quite enjoyable, and the camera has no trouble recognising the letters. The picture isn't always obvious either so at times there's a lot of lateral thinking going on to try and guess the word. They haven't got the hang of Masterpiece yet, and Newton is beyond me, so when they ask me to help, I just suggest they get the Tangrams out instead. The favourite is the numbers game, but I bought that separately so won't review that here.

Excellent innovative use of iPad!
Brilliant toy. My daughter is older than age recommended but had additional learning needs. So it's excellent for her. The playability is ace. Love the posture in play, rather than hunched over neck down, children play with physical pieces. Very great design. I look forward to new updates and games.

For this alone it is highly recommended. I haven't tried the other apps in this ...
I bought this to use with my 7 year old twin girls who are in year 3 and get weekly spelling tests. I find it hard work with two trying to get them to learn their words. Osmo makes it much easier!!! I upload the words and images for this weeks spelling test and once we have learnt them (of sorts) I leave one child to play the spelling game while i read with the other. I then alternate them and the other child does this weeks spelling list on osmo while i read with her sister. Really helps reinforce the spelling. For this alone it is highly recommended. I haven't tried the other apps in this pack as i didn't by it as a toy but as an aid to help with the weekly spelling list. Highly recommended for this alone!!!

So awesome!!
So awesome!!! Bought this for my 7 year old niece & she loves it!! It helps that she gets a score with every correct answer... Does need to be supervised by an adult as she's that bit too young for some of the words. She loves the shapes challenge too. Expensive but well worth it!

A simple idea with lots of potential
This is excellent. The mirror and stand are quite simple, but they've come up with a wide range of games to play with them - what you're paying for is the programming rather than the physical accessories. My 6 year old loves all the games that come in the starter kit, but thinks Newton is best. No doubt we will be getting the other games for future birthdays and Christmases and I look forward to seeing what new games they come up with in future.

Bought this in the US for 70 USD and thought it was ludicrously overpriced and I'm amazed that people are lining up to pay the same amount in pounds. Its about 30 GBPs worth of neat, really no more than that.
