KC Natural | Traditional Style Tomato Free Pasta Sauce | 280mg Sodium (2-pack, 1.00)

I got this sauce to try after being placed on a diet that does not allow me to eat tomatoes. I could not imagine never being able to have spaghetti again with the meat sauce and/or meatballs that I like so I was trying to find another option. When I read the ingredients and saw that it is made with carrots, beets, molasses and other items, I couldn't see how it would taste the same, but I decided to try it. Boy, was I surprised! It was sweeter than regular tomato sauce but after I added garlic, onion powder, Italian seasonings, and additional oregano. I didn't give it a 5 because after it heats, it is thicker than regular tomato sauce so it coats the meat well but you don't get the extra sauce for the noodles. My immediate fix for that was to make my spaghetti garlic noodles by adding a garlic butter sauce. That did the trick and it tasted delicious. The next day, I used some of the sauce to make healthy nachos by adding low fat shredded American cheese (not allowed to have cheddar), onions, iceberg lettuce and taco sauce. That was delicious too. I used the remainder of the sauce for an egg white omelet the following morning by adding the same cheese, onions, and bell pepper. Yum! While it is not as affordable as regular sauce, I will definitely buy it again because it allows me to have the food that I enjoy. I can't wait to try it on other dishes.

I find this a very versatile product. It is a great tasting substitute for tomato-based sauce. My husband, who does not need to eat the restrictive diet I do uses this all the time instead of traditional tomato sauce.I do sometimes get bottles broken during shipping and wish they were always as well packaged as they sometimes are.

No, seriously. We tried. He has a nightshade sensitivity, and we tried to make a half a dozen different "nomato" sauces for spaghetti and lasagna. We gave up all hope until we found KC. It's not the same, but it works and tastes fabulous. A little caraway and oregano, and it tastes even better.

Sauce was wrapped in package, however was leaking in the plastic bubble wrap and the top of bottle was not sealed.

I'm allergic to nightshades, and now I finally can have the flavor I crave. 2 drawbacks....1. it's not red enough for my eyes to register the sauce as being authentic, but this also tells me they did not use fake coloring.2. a bit too sweet for my taste, though some like that. I would put the sweetness on par with Prego.Still I will buy again

This was delicious. Having a night shade allergy it’s difficult to find options for a quick meal. Of course it’s not exactly like a tomato sauce but it’s similar. Most importantly it’s not a cream sauce or oily pesto. It’s super healthy and the flavor is wonderful.

Read the fine print - the third ingredient is balsamic vinegar. While the taste was pretty good, it isn’t suitable for low acid protocols - which was what I bought it for.

I haven't been able to have any tomato products for over two years. Imagine my surprise when my son found your products made with carrots and cherries. Thank you so much for adding yummy tastes to my eating.
