Hi - i want to but this for an elderly relative who wants to listen to programmes on bbc sounds. would this work and be simple to use?

If they can say "Hay Google play ... From the BBC" they can work it I would definitely recommend once they are comfortable with it you can do so much more like lights and heating locks etc it's actually a great solution for the elderly or otherwise infirm

Very good!

Switched from an Alexa to this and I’m so glad I did, so many issues with the Alexa but the google home is easier to use, more reliable and such an easier set up, if you’re thinking of switching or just getting one I definitely recommend

Good piece of tech

I’m really impressed with the fairly easy set up. The speaker sound is much better than I thought it would be for a small device. It has a lot of awesome base. I particularly like it because I have YouTube premium and it’s music on demand by voice control, much better than competitors. I haven’t managed to link my calendar yet or some personal options, but that may come when I get more used to the device.
