FISKARS Handle: Plastic with Softgrip; Blade: Japanese Stainless Steel Ff Peeler (Fixed Blade) | 1014418

My fixed blade peeler that I brought from England to the USA when I immigrated 22 years ago finally but the dust and I just couldn’t find a replacement over here as apparently the USA prefers swivel blades - which I absolutely hate! I managed to find just one of a popular brand, but the blades weren’t sharp and were set so deep that you lost half your potato with the peelings. With Christmas coming up, and potatoes to peel for 14 people, I couldn’t wait until my next trip home and went on a search to find a fixed blade peeler that would ship to the USA and hopefully arrive before Christmas! This one arrived 10 days earlier than the earliest expected delivery time, is a trusted brand that the Brits are very familiar with, and works beautifully. It makes peeling anything a breeze, quick, sharp and efficient and no risk of cut fingers from an out-of-control swivel blade. The only downside is that my American husband and our American side of the family refuse to use it as they are only used to swivel blades - Ah well, I don’t care, I will joyfully peel all the potatoes myself with my fantastic new peeler - and I will remember to stock up with enough spare peelers to last me a lifetime on my next trip back home :)

Handig in gebruik, schilt superdun en is echt goed scherp.

Great seller, fast service, nothing to complain on that part.But I purchased this item to replace a similar old Henckels product. I loved my old Henckels because the blade was "long" and the handle comfortable for my big hands. The Fiskars handle is a tiny bit smaller, hence less comfortable for me. The blade is very sharp but almost 1 cm shorter than my old Henckels. Having a smaller blade makes it more difficult to peel thick-skinned vegetables... Maybe I had too great expectations for the Fiskars peeler but I am a bit disapointed by the product.

Das Teil liegt gut in die Hand und ist scharf. Schält sehr gut. Bin sehr zufrieden.
