The Cleaver Knife arrived in a conveniently sized box with which to store the knife if you do not have a block with room for such a blade. You know how, in a flip way, you can generally tell a quality product by the overall weight and balance once it’s in your hand? This has that; very comfortable and manageable.Not only is it well-balanced regarding overall manufacturing balance-points but the dynamic balance, the most important component, is also excellent. This relates to the ease of operation when cutting and butchering meats and bone or methodically chopping hard root vegetables. It is weighted and balanced in order for the tool to do the work. This is of course aided by its sharpness. It is laser-like right out of the box and cut in such a way that sharpening is easy. I use a stone so your mileage may vary regarding re-sharpening but it’s been put through its paces quite a bit in its first week and is still very sharp without need for re-honing as of yet.I had been working with a unique hand-me-down which I became very accustomed to and reluctantly had to hand back so I was skeptical of finding something I would enjoy working with. Although it hasn’t been in my possession very long I am very satisfied with its performance and can tell it will be a go-to tool in my kitchen. I recommend this Cleaver Knife without hesitation. Based on this knife, this company has stirred my interest in their 8 and 10 inch chef’s knives even though I don’t need one right now.Overall an exceptionally made knife and quite useful for any busy kitchen or home cook.

The media could not be loaded. My daughter was complaining she didn't have a good cleaver, so I bought her one on Amazon that was highly rated, the Zelite Infinity Butcher knife. I asked her to send me a video of the 1st time she used the knife. She used the Zelite Infinity Butcher knife first time to cut a dragon fruit, this was her reaction to using the Zelite cleaver for the first time. If a picture is worth a 1000 words a video is worth 10000 or more words, this is a high quality and highly crafted cleaver.******* Added Later ******************We have found out this is NOT a CLEAVER, it is a sharp knife that is good for cutting large soft items. It is NOT to be used to cut meat bone, if you do it will chip the knife edge. Since this, my daughter has kept this knife for cutting soft items, but I bought her a true meat cleaver knife. A meat cleaver is thicker and the cutting edge is formed more like an "axe" than like a sharp fine thin knife for delicate fine cutting. This is a good knife but it is NOT a CLEAVER.

Cutting small bones is still acceptable; The blade is not easily deformed; Compared to the price, it's really worth it

Love, love, love this cleaver. It's got heft to it, allowing you to chop through your meat, bones, etc., easily. Blade is sharp, handle is extremely comfortable. I knocked 1 star off because it doesn't come with a protective sheath. I had purchased a Zelite Chef's knife that came with a sheath, and assumed all the knives they manufactured came with one. Not so; it seems an included sheath is an exception rather than the rule. So I'm off to search for a sheath to protect this awesome blade. Until then, I'll have to keep it in its box, which is a pain; I won't add this to my knife drawer until I can protect it.

Not too happy about receiving a potentially used and dirty re-boxed knife that I paid top-dollar for.UPDATE 5/2/2018 :Zelite makes an excellent cleaver and the customer service is top-notch! I had posted a 1-star review earlier due to receiving a used and dirty knife. Within a day of posting my Amazon review, the manufacturer (Customer Service Manager Sam) reached out to me by email to clarify the situation. Apparently returned items to Amazon (for example the used cleaver I received) are supposed to be boxed and sent back to the manufacturer; however, it appears that Amazon had re-boxed the used cleaver then sent it out to fulfill a new order. Apologetic, the manufacturer offered to : A). Refund the cost of the cleaver 100% and allow me to keep the cleaver that was sent to me in error; B). Replace the used cleaver with a brand new one at no additional cost.The cleaver appears very well made, and the customer service and response time is top tier! They certainly turned around a regrettable situation, and have satisfied me with both their excellent product and customer-first attitude! Highly recommend!

I have several other knives by Zelite and have had them for over a year. They keep a really good edge and the weight balance is very good. When I saw this on sale I thought it would compliment my collection, however I do not want to invest in a different knife storage block... this would not fit within the block, the blade is about 1/4" too tall.

Sturdy and well made. This is an good hefty knife to have for chopping.

Best combo cleaver knife I have used. Well balanced. Super sharp. Won't be hacking through bones with it, but a perfect aid for grinding meat. Chopping chunks goes faster than slicing them. But if you do have to slice or cut something, no need to change knives. Blade is wide enough to assist in scooping/scraping cut chunks from cutting board into your other hand. Only thing I can't comment on is durability of edge as I have only used it once. Tore through 10 lbs. of meat in minutes. Will keep you posted about durability. So far though, a winner!
