Just the right form for the function for my home rainwater collection system. I was looking for an effective way to filter any large debris that inherently accumulates in the tank while drawing the water through a pump system. This filter is simple, anti-corrosion (SS mesh) and fits standard 3/4 in hose make end. It is working flawlessly and does not clog or require any special maintenance unlike many others that are more expensive and hassle to maintain especially when it is immersed in the large tank

Crazy story! Our AC condensation line that drains out of the back of our house got clogged recently. Our repairman used a shop vac to suction out the line. A huge slug that was about 4 inches long was up inside the line, clogging up the pipe! This caused water to back up inside our house. It was a mess! He said he’s never seen anything like it in any repairs he’s done. He suggested getting something to put over the pipe to keep this from happening again. My husband found this on Amazon, installed it and no more slugs! 🙂

I use on small pump just clean out screen immediately after use or it's hard to remove debris without damaging screen.

This strainer is nice and robust. It should hold up to most all suction strainer duties typically found at home. The thread *can* fit onto a typical US garden hose, but the threads are slightly different. You *can* get it on, but it's not the correct thread. It will go on, and will stay on, and will work great. The thread for this strainer is listed as "3/4-14". A typical garden hose is "3/4-11.5 NH". It'll fit, and will work ok, but the threads won't line up properly. Here's more on garden hose threads: This standard thread size is the American National Standards Institute (ANSI) standard for garden hose fitting thread size, which is ¾”–11.5 NH or NHR. NH stands for American Standard Hose Coupling Threads of Full Form (used for a standard machined thread), and NHR stands for American Standard Hose Coupling Threads for Garden Hose Applications (used for rolled or formed threads such as Swan’s rolled male thread).

Works great for our pond setup - keeps any large debris out of the pipe before it reaches the secondary fine filter. Simple to install, threads seem heavy duty and fit a standard NPT adapter from the local plumbing shop.
