Hamster & Rat Cage Grosvenor XL 100cm x 54cm x 39cm - Grey | Little Friends

I bought the two tier 100cm wide cage in grey. It looks a much lighter grey in the picture and it's actually a medium/dark grey which is a shame but not the end of the world. It was really easy to put together, I assembled it on my own and it took about 10 -15 minutes. We bought our hamster a week ago and bought a 'starter cage' from the pet shop, after getting home and researching we realised the starter cages are not suitable and far too small. The last few days Bear McBiggles was starting to appear unhappy in his cage and was trying to break free. We thought we had a lazy hamster as he would wander around his cage for 5 minutes and then go back to bed. But since getting this cage he is really active, he now plays on his wheel constantly which he didn't do before and loves to explore. He has climbed the entire height of the cage a few times and fallen back down. I panicked the first time but he was ok. He does like to launch himself off the first floor platform, I'm just hoping he doesn't attempt to jump off the second floor platform as it's pretty high. We had bought a large hamster wheel and it easily fits in this cage. We had been considering a wooden cage as they look lovely but we were worried about how long it would last and if it would get urine stained and mouldy, so we decided to go for this as it looked like it would be easier to clean. We haven't cleaned it yet as it just arrived but I can tell it will be as easy as the starter cage, just on a much bigger scale. I also like the fact that we can get accessories to hang from the side bars and roof bars.

As soon as we found out that cages sold in pet stores (even the largest ones) are too small and will definitely make your pet depressed, we found this cage, recommended by Amazon. ADVANTAGES: 1. Big enough. If you want to have a HAPPY hamster or a mouse - this is the best cheapest option! It has a plastic bottom, which you (should) fill with substrates and bedding for your pet to burrow in, make tunnels and hide food. 2. Not too tall. The height is just right - hamsters don’t have a depth perception and would always jump down, so it’s a bad idea to get something taller. 3. Cheap. It is the cheapest cage we found, and all the others have the same size (or smaller) but several times more expensive! 4. Wooden second floor fits really nice, and my hamster loves the wooden stairs! Disadvantages: 1. The plastic bottom could have been taller, so hamsters can make deeper burrows. 2. I don’t like metal bars, I prefer glass or transparent plastic - it looks nicer and allows to take nice pictures and videos. 3. I wish there was even a bigger cage! Overall: I wish such cages were more popular than the small ones sold in pet stores!! PLEASE, DO BUY BIG CAGES for your small pets, they really deserve their own territory and a happy life!

ends of metal bars have metal spikes so you cant slide bar ends down the plastic to assemble the cage correctly. other than that its aboug 6-7 inches deep and a nice looking cage and good size, wouldng recommend for mice as bars are to wide and bendy.

Box was delivered very poorly packaged. Plastic parts broken. Whole thing was very flimsy

100cm 2 floors wow this cage is huge for my hamster but the bigger the better they say , very easy to put together but you may need help as it is tricky to stop it all moving in the assembaly , i think its lightweight the base and its good you can take the metal sides apart for storage etc,any hamster would apprciate the size and space to not be stuck in a tiny cage which is cruel ,upgraded my cage as hammy is bar biting hope this will stop it ? as i also let my ham free roam so she is used to getting out daily /my hanster really is going to have a shock how big his new house is x

This cage is a good size, however, the slots in the platforms were badly miss aligned and I had to carve new ones so that they would fit. There were also two missing parts (the outer clasps that keep the wire of the cage attached to the base) Fortunately I had an old cage with clasps that I could use, but this would be a real headache for someone who doesn't have this. I will say that there are way more positives than negatives. The roof opening is really convenient as it can be partially or fully open, which is great if you have hammocks or hanging toys. The side opening is much larger than expected, which means that it is far easier to handle your pets or top up their food and water. I like that it didn't come with a wheel, as the ones that come with cages are never the right size, and are a waste of space and just get thrown out. The cage is massive, and it makes it much easier to see your pets, and the black wire isn't as distracting as the white wire. Over all I'd recommend this cage for mice, but not very young mice as they'd get out through the bars.

This is the perfect size I would recommend to measure where you want it to be it’s quite big I didn’t expect it to be this big my hamster loves it (I have more things to add but I was rushing to go work)😂😂x it quite tricky to put together defiantly need some help

This is a fantastic cage. Great size for my Russian dwarf, he had plenty of room to run about and loads of space for all of the things he needs, he's really happy in his new home. I also love the large opening top lid! Makes cleaning out etc nice and easy.
