Light will cut through the smoke and get you on track to where you need to be. The rear flashing red light makes life much easier when working a fireline with dozers and other loud equipment operating, it's bright enough to let an operator know you're there without blinding them. Unless you want too, like if they're still getting too close, those riser lights cannot compete with how bright this headlamp is! Besides a good pair of boots, I swear by this purchase! Review: Very bright on front and rear - My headlamp arrived earlier today, so I have yet to bring it into an incident with me, but I am impressed by how bright it is, and how well it holds on to my helmet once adjusted. I would highly recommend this product!
