Lovely moka pot with a great price
A beautiful stovetop moka pot which makes delicious espresso in a matter of about 5 minutes and doesn’t break the bank. It’s easy to clean and a great addition to my coffee ritual. I got the six cup version and could not be happier.

Difficult to say.
Difficult to rate the Zulay as coffee making is labor intensive but, coffee taste is exceptional Taste is comparable taste to my French press so that’s a plus. Some problems are: -no manual. Had it not been for YouTube it would have been much worse. -No guidance on how much coffee to add for brewing by strength etc. Be patient as it takes a while to brew on an electric stove. -no guidance on how to know when pot has completed brewing. Something about listening for a ‘gurgle’ to signal brew complete which I have listened for intently on various brews but have never heard. -cleaning/washing vessel is easy enough however, emptying grounds is a pain. -great appearance and seems well made. No noise in use. -arrived in a timely manner. -fair price.

This is the PERFECT ONE! You don't need to search anymore!
I've bought and returned 5 so claimed Espresso Coffee Pots, but THIS ONE is the only one that is the "REAL" thing. I was born and raised wilth my Cuban family and know what a real and good Moka Espresso Pot should be and look like. This is the ONE! The Zulay Moka Pot Espresso maker pours perfectly into your mug without any spills. It doesn't leak like the others do while perculating. The base of it doesn't turn black when put to the heat as the others do because they are poorly made. The Zulay is made with GREAT quality and solid. You can tell even by the weight, but also the care that they took into making it. They give you a lifetime guarantee and their own phone number with the hours of work if you need anything. WOW! What a difference when you actually get the right one and made with such great care and good quality. I'm so glad that I didn't give up. I almost did, as all the others are like tin. The handle is sturdy and away from the pot so you don't get burn or it gets hot. It's GREAT! I love it, and every time I make espresso coffee it's easy, no mess, and tastes AMAZING! Thank you Zulay family for making such great quality Espresso Maker. You don't get such service and qualilty now a days, but this company deserves the praise. This is AUTHENTIC and not made cheaply. It comes in a very professional box with great instructions, although I don't need them, being raise in a Cuban home I know how, but it's wonderful for those who don't. I will put the pictures to show you how it arrived and the care that this company took into making it. It also was extremely FAST shipping, and I don't have Prime. Thank you for your work, and may God bless you, your family and your wonderful company.

Does Its Job
I bought the white, 5.5 cup stovetop coffee maker around 2 or 3 weeks ago and it works just fine. The white enamel stains when coffee drops splatter a bit, however, disappear after rinsing the pot (once it cools down, of course). The instructions stated the handle mimicked wood, so I knew this info beforehand, but really wished it was real. The detail "wood" have added more charm, not Zulay's fault as they did not manufacture the pot. What matters most to me is that the handle is not hot, has a comfortable grip & was designed further out than usual to eliminate burns. Valve, pressure & percolating function well resulting in a strong brew. 1 cup water, 2 tablespoons of ground coffee & 1 cup milk allow me two flavorful servings. The lid hinge could be stronger but it's not a deal breaker. The spout pours a steady stream, no access running down the pot. It does take the coffee maker some time to percolate at medium heat (sorry, haven't timed it) so I just give it a head start by adding warm water. Yes, the reservoir is already stained (I anticipated this much), but mine is not peeling at all as I've seen some reviews state. I really don't have complaints about the purchase. I make sure to rinse & store it dry; I'm certain this product will last a long while for me.

Not water leak.
Get to make my Cuban coffee in my recently trip to Mexico. I use La llave brand coffee and I love it. Strong coffee make with the 2 colors (red and black) coffee maker. Recommend!

The only thing going for this stove top espresso maker is that it's pretty
This stove top espresso maker is very pretty but pretty doesn't equal good quality or efficient. I have a 6 cup Bialetti moka stove top espresso maker that is getting very old and I was looking to replace it, but didn't feel like I could afford to get another one (they're $56.90). This one was so much more economical and had so many good reviews I thought I'd order one. Don't waste your money. I got what I paid for. I've used it quite a bit, but the majority of the time it stops brewing long before all the water has been used up. I'm filling it with water and coffee grounds exactly the same way I do my Bialetti. I like to brew up a lot of espresso that I then keep chilled in my refrigerator. Today every time I used it I ended up with only about half the espresso as it should have brewed, with the last batch only being about a 10th of the water that was in the bottom half of the espresso maker. I didn't hear the bubbling/brewing noise I normally hear, when it's done, so it sat on the stove basically burning the tiny bit of espresso it had managed to brew. I'm done using this. It's going into the trash can. My husband has kindly ordered me another Bialetti.

Basic, works, some problems
Works like all other moka pots, no real problem with basic function. I love the handle, hope it holds up. Every pot I have had in the last 20 years has been thrown due to handles that break or melt. This one sticks further out and stays cool to the touch. The pot itself has thinner walls than previous ones, which is why I assume it is cheaper. Less metal, costs less. With that, I find I have to twist the top and bottom more firmly together to maintain the pressure seal and prevent leakage. I had not noted when purchasing, the admonition against using on a gas stove, and did not understand why the instructions that came with the pot said to turn off the heat immediately when it began to boil. This simply stopped the process on my gas stove and water remained in the bottom. On an electric stove, the burner will remain hot for awhile and the process likely continues. So, I would have to keep the heat on as I always have--one needs to use a burner size that fits or is smaller than the base on a gas unit. The reason for not using on a gas stove may be related to the paint. You can see in the picture where the paint has changed color. I had been using the pot for several weeks before this happened. I suspect the issue came when I walked away for a few minutes and didn't get back immediately when it began to boil. This resulted in the bottom chamber being empty and dry, and likely became too hot without the water in it, and thus created too high a heat for the paint?? It's unfortunate. I have probably owned six or eight moka pots in 20 years, all but one were painted/enameled. This is the first time I have ever had this happen with the paint color. And it's not the first time I've left one unattended for a few minutes to boil after the bottom chamber ran dry. So just know this is an issue. I'm hoping it won't result in the paint now cracking or peeling.
