I have 6 of these now.
Great GMRS radio for the money! I have one in every vehicle and pack along with a solar charging battery pack to keep them charged in case of emergencies. Easy to program and use. Love that it also has fm radio when I’m fishing on the other side of the lake. My wife can let me know if I need to wrap it up for any reason as there is no cell service at the lake.Great longer range radio for my family. I have also bought them as gifts for my friends and helped them through the GMRS license process. But several, you will live that you have emergency radios that won’t break the bank.

If you just have to have a GMRS handheld, it's an awesome choice.
I mostly use my radios while driving in some remote places with friends. A recent fad seems to be to skip the hassle of studying for a ham license, and going with GMRS radios; after several trips with GMRS-only people, I decided to have one in the vehicle, just in case.Ended up buying two of them - and these are far better than the early Baofeng ham handheld. Easy to set up, work well, good sound and decent range with provided longer whip antennas.

Solid for what you get out of it, but can leave something to be desired.
The GM15 Baofeng radio is a good radio for beginners just getting into GMRS. In my location with the longer antenna that comes with it can consistently reach a repeater about 15 miles away with decent audio quality. It will also work well for my intended use for it, which is to have a second radio to give my parents on road trips for when we take separate cars. I don't anticipate having any issues.A few things you should know before you buy it, however:1. This radio is essentially a Radioddity GM30 packaged under the Baofeng name. It uses the GM30 software for programming and as far as I have been able to tell, this is the only software available for this radio. You will probably want to get a programming cable along with this radio. You certainly can program it without, but especially if you want to use repeaters, doing it in software is so much simpler.2. Channels 30 and higher are receive only channels. To put it another way, you can only listen on any channel above channel 30. This can be slightly limiting while traveling if you want to connect to different repeaters on the same frequency that use different tones. It's certainly possible, but will be more difficult than on other radios I've used.3. While it's advertised as an 8W radio I have noticed no real difference in performance or battery life over my 5W radio which is otherwise very similar. If anything, I've noticed the battery goes down slightly faster on this one than on my 5W GM21 radio.Overall, as someone fairly new to GMRS who needed a second handheld radio to meet my specific use case, I think I would buy this one again knowing what I know now. It was very frustrating to figure out in the moment, especially for the software. However, now that I have what I need for it, it works well enough. I probably would have returned it, though if it were my first radio or my only radio. At the price point, there are simply better options.

Not bad
I have used Kenwood and a lot of different radios. However I really don't know much about them.I have a good bit of experience using them however. This radio has all the TX and rx I need.As far as range goes about a mile is all I need.It does that with no problem. And sounds great doing it.As far as programming goes it has all I need at this time preprogrammed in the box. However I have looked into it.This radio has no programming cable with it so I bought one for possible future use.It cost 14 dollars. It is not chirp supported and beofang doesn't have much on it.I understand the Radioddity GM 30 software works fine.I changed to a Nayoga 771g antenna and get much better rx now.Radio sounds great and am told it TX as loud and strong. As far as I'm concerned for a 28 dollar radio it is fantastic. The Kenwood radios I used at work all those years are probably much better radios as should be at 300 dollars apiece. But from my perspective its hard to tell.If you are like me and just need a reliable shot range radio this is perfect. The way I understand it there is no need for a license if you stay on FRS frequencies.

Great value
For the price and for what you get you really can't complain. I got the orange color and it's fun to have a GMRS radio in something other than black. Sound quality is good, pretty to use (I'm a basic user and relatively new to GMRS). I'm thinking these would be great if you're looking to stash GMRS radios in a couple different vehicles or packs to make sure you always have one or for loaners or for folks that are new to GMRS and just want to see if it's something they'd enjoy.

The Chargers finicky
The charger is finicky it doesn't work with all my USB C cables which is why I bought this so I won't have to worry about another cable and now it really only charges with the one that came with it if it wasn't for that then this would be a easy 4 star. Other than that it works as described

Easy to use
Great little radio we use on our offroad outings. Lots of functionality and has the usbc charging. Highly recommend. Small unit but clear reception.
