Things to note, I have tried at least 2 other brands which were both disappointing in the fact that they are extremely strong and the forces on the tailgate are not something even remotely close to OEM. The gate simply accelerates and slams in the open position which to me will eventually cause structural damage to the body and mounting mechanism. -This particular product, however, is exactly as the OEM parts that failed just a few days ago, the struts support the tailgate with a very good effort and perform exactly the same as the OEM struts. I would highly recommend especially at this price.-Installation took about 2min as they snap in place. The only thing needed is a narrow flat blade screw driver to release the springs from the OEM units. These then snapped in place.

These work fine - can't tell on durability yet - too new. When installing I found it best to remove both old lifts at once - at first I tried to change 1 at a time but the gate wouldn't open up wide enough to connect the lift and there is no way I was strong enough to compress the new lift even a tad to make it the right length to fit. Be sure to have a good support to hold your lid open while the old lifts are off

These were pretty easy to install, but I do think a set of installation instructions should have been included (which is why I give it a 4 instead of 5). Fortunately, I read other reviews and did some research on how to install them. Turns out it's quite easy - use a flat head screwdriver to remove the metal clips, pop off the old shock, and pop on the new shock (I used a pole to prop open the trunk - don't forget that!). I agree with another post - the shocks are not easy to compress by hand, but I did find a trick. I noticed when I was trying to install that the pole I used to prop open the trunk did not extend the trunk fully. After popping in the lower ball socket, I extended the trunk fully, and was able to pop in the top ball socket without compressing the shock. The whole process took less than 10 minutes (a few minutes to come up with a solution to the compression problem). Once installed, they work very well. Excellent value for the money. Now just need to see how long they last. My OEM shocks lasted 8 years, so as long as these last 2 years, I think I'm better off (than buying the $80 per shock replacement from the store).

Although upon purchase, I had a message box pop up and say "guaranteed to fit your vehicle,"it doesn't. Too long. Can't reach seller for help, and had to put in request to return using Amazon "self help." Hella inconvenient and disappointing...I wish the seller had some sort of contact info to reaolve better.
