Black Sheep Review: 5 stars!! - A dark academia like romance story following Bria and professor Kaplan. Bria has secrets and a darkness around her that Kaplan can't stay away from. She's an ex cult person trying to get rid of the evil of the world aka cult leaders. Kaplan works with an FBI agent to get rid of these same cult leaders. Unknowingly while sleeping with the person who's killing their leads. A very dark spicy book that I absolutely loved and could not put down. Spice rating of 3.5/5 for me personally. This book had me enthralled from the start. A standalone story that is a must if you liked the mindfuxk series. Review: Another Enjoyable Dark Romance - Physical Condition: The book arrived in good condition. It looked to be brand new which is what I ordered. While there weren't any misprints in the actual story, I did have an issue with the way the book itself was printed. The dimensions of the book seemed larger than it needed to be. There was a good inch thick margin on each side of the text that just felt unnecessary. Either make the text large enough to fill the pages, or make the dimensions of the book to match the way the text was laid out. This is more of a personal problem, but it's the only issue I had with the physical condition. Book Review: This is now the second book by Weaver that Iโve read and I enjoyed it just as much as the first book. Although I can say when I picked this one up, I was thinking it was like her recent book, Butcher & Blackbird, synopsis wise until I realized that Eli is not an serial unaliver (desertcart flags certain words so I've had to change them or hint at things instead) also, itโs just Bria and then I saw all the other ways it was different as I was reading. I donโt think Iโve read a book by two authors before, but this one was a pretty good start. Since Iโve only read one of Weaverโs books, I didnโt know her style well enough to be able to tell where the two voices maybe sounded different, but I donโt know if thatโs necessarily a bad thing. There were a few times in the writing where I was confused on what theyโd be trying to describe or it seemed like minute details were left out that wouldโve made more sense. It didnโt happen frequently, but enough times for me to notice it. Iโve only recently started getting into dark romance books, but when I do read them, I usually go into them with not necessarily low expectations, but a lesser expectation of reality. What I mean by that is, did I read this and want the professor to absolutely end up with Bria the serial unaliver? Heck yes. Now if this was a true story would I want the same to happen? Absolutely not. Iโd be yelling for that man to be running for the hillsssssss. But considering this was all fictional, I loved it when they were together. The relationship could have been a little stronger though in the sense that we donโt get too many of their interactions outside of sexual ones to know if they really have a true connection outside of the physical. Sure thereโs the witty banter and mystery, but besides that Iโm not sure it made enough sense for them to fall in love so fast and for Eli to look over so many things just because the s*x was great. It may have made the book a little longer, but it probably wouldโve benefitted for us to see more of those in-between interactions to see the types of conversations they could have on just a normal day with no s*x. When it comes to Bria, her backstory is rather dark and sad and I can completely understand why she went after the people she did. She really didnโt stand a chance at a normal life right from the jump and while Samuel did take her in, it still continued down a dark path. I would have liked to get a little more of a backstory on Samuel too to find out the types of people he went after, how he got started in the first place, and even what brought him to the dumping ground at the time Bria ended up there. I understand what was implied, but I still wanted a little more detail. It did warm my heart near the end when Bria heard the words of the last journal page. That was really sweet and showed the bond went deeper than maybe either of them wanted to admit. When it came to Eli, I donโt necessarily see how he was all that dark aside from the kinks he had, but I still feel the two of them were a good fit for each other. He was head over heels for her from the moment he saw her and I just couldnโt but love every minute of it. When things do start to go to crap between them, the authors at least give him a realistic reaction to it all. If he didnโt react that way it wouldโve just made it entirely too unrealistic and kinda ruined that last half of the book. There were definitely wayyyyy more spicy scenes in this book than I was prepared for, but I ainโt mad at it. The library scene alone has been living rent free in my head ever since I read it. Overall I enjoyed reading this story. I canโt say I was hooked on it right from the first chapter, but it also didnโt take me long to get into it. This was honestly a rather quick read for me and I look forward to reading more from these authors. If a few parts had been stronger, this wouldโve been a five stars, but I still give it a four due to how much I enjoyed it. Funny, smart, fast paced, spicy, and dark. All the makings of a great romance!
The release of Black Sheep is appropriate for summer because WOWZA! It is a scorcher in the heat department. But, it doesn't stop there. This dark romance has a plot that kept me flying through the pages. Brynne Weaver and Alexa Harlowe teamed up to create a deliciously devious story. The dual POV has us following Bria, a grad student who also happens to be an unapologetic serial killer and Eli, a college professor with a penchant for tweed and a specific unconventional taste. It's no holds barred when these two cross paths and their missions collide. I thought I knew exactly what to expect in this book....I did not. It was so much more and exceeded any expectations my little brain could have dreamed up. Right out of the gate, they came with guns blazing. With quick witted banter, great balance of spice vs plot, and great complimentary characters, their writings flawlessly blended to create magic. I have to do a special shout out to Samuel because he is so well done, I was obsessed! I'm a sucker for wit and apparently old man serial killing mentors so Samuel was my absolute favorite character

Black Sheep - Kindle Read
***SPOILERS AHEAD***At first I was pretty hyped with this book and gave it 5 stars .. after thinking about it I give it 3.75/5 LOL. It was still pretty good though. Anything with a serial killer heroine is immediately gaining brownie points with me. (Although nothing seems to compare to the queen herself Lana Myers๐ฉ). Briaโs background as to why she is a serial killer was literally such a good story line. But her character development was like eeeehhhhhh. As for the main characters together, Bria and Eli had very good se*ual chemistry. The tension and angst and their witty banter with each other was HOT! As for romantic chemistry? eeeh Idkkk. I feel like their relationship was mainly based on se*ual attraction and se* (which I am not complaining LOL I love me some smut). As for her character development I was talking about, her entire mission as a killer seems to be put on hold and morphed into a different plan just for Eli. Like ok sure his long lost brother who he thought was dead ends up being the master guy of the cult BUT SO??! Stick to your shit and kill the guy! The romantic suspense and tension and anticipation was missing since from the second they meet they are obsessed with each other. Now donโt get me wrong, I liked the book. I just feel like it could have been so much more!!! The bones of the story were GOOD! But then it didnโt unravel the way it could have. But still a great read and I am happy I came across this book. 3.5โญ๏ธ?
Honestly Iโm not sure what to rate this. Did I like it? Yes. Did I love it? No. Still it was interesting. Loved the spice. Loved the main characters. Didnโt really understand the reason was Gabriel/caron did what he did? I mean to me with his background and his childhood it didnโt make sense? Maybe Iโm overthinking it. I was also very sad with Samuelโs ending. Did I see it coming? Yes. Still it was sad. Still good story

Bria is a Black Sheep in the BEST possible way!
Black Sheep follows the story of an unassuming serial killer/doctoral student (Bria Brooks) and a college professor (Dr. Elijah Kaplan) who both have their sights set on finding the head of the Legio Agni cult. The hunt for Caron Berger is what brings these two together and it is a steamy wild ride to say the least ๐ข I really loved the cult aspect of this book and how we learn so much about Briaโs backstory as well as her relationship with Samuel. There was a lot depth and progression to this story and it was so much more than just a spicy read (although the spice was ๐ฅ10/10๐ฅ). The plot had vengeance, character growth, witty banter, navigating love, and an ending that brought such a smile to my face. Dr. Kaplan having a secret dark/kinky side ๐ was the perfect touch to his character and made his dynamic with Bria absolute perfection. Their chemistry was complete fire and the things that Kaplan said had me S H O O K ๐ฎโ๐จ๐ฅต I adored the mixture of passion/BDSM/romance that they had with one another. What Youโll Find - Dual POV - ๐ฅฃ Unaliver FMC - K-nky Professor MMC ๐ - Life after escaping a cult - BDSM, Breath Play + Lots of Toys ๐ฅต

Another Slam Dunk!!
Holy hell this book was phenomenal! I love everything Brynne writes so I knew this would be no different but this blew my freaking mind! Bria is the type of badass FMC that everyone wants on their team and if you end up facing her on the battlefield you would off yourself for a shred of mercy at the end. Bria TAKES NO PRISONERS. I wanna be just like her when I grow up! Eli is the type of man you wish came with 2 day prime shipping. He seems adorkable and reserved at the beginning (especially with the royal mess he creates with Bria) but push his buttons and he has a dark side waiting to be unleashed (and 2 hands that work perfectly as necklaces ๐). I loved the relationship between Bria and Samuel! Freaking Richard Piston (aka Dick), I got a real kick out of that one! They are two brilliant serial killers who have no one but eachother and clearly care for one another in a familial way but don't know how to express it. Makes me wish I had a brilliant, rich, psychopathic serial killer Uncle....wait.....๐ค Caron, what a creep. Not much else to say here about him. He's the leader of a CULT. We all know what they do! Creepy creeper. Anyways, to wrap this up, my heart was pumping and adrenaline was flowing the entire time (especially the last like 6 chapters). The book flows seamlessly, the plot twists are well choreographed, and the addition of a mind palace was FREAKING FANTASTIC and something I haven't seen yet in other books I've read but I have been fascinated by since BBC's Sherlock series. I'm CONVINCED Brynne can do no wrong and clearly Alexa is on the same pedestal with her! 5 brilliant stars to this book, you won't be disappointed!

Fun, addictive, and hot dark romance!
๐ป๐๐๐'๐๐ ๐ ๐๐๐๐๐๐๐๐๐๐๐๐." this first line alone had me hooked from the very beginning and I was obsessed! this was equal parts spice, humor, emotional, and all parts enjoyable! This story follows Bria Brooks and Eli Kaplan. Bria Brooks is a ๐ฅฃ๐ช that is out for revenge on those that have hurt her and those who take advantage of vulnerable woman. Eli Kaplan is a forensic psychologist working at a university working with the FBI to take down a secret organization. "๐ฐ๐ ๐๐๐๐ ๐๐๐ ๐๐๐๐ ๐๐๐ ๐๐๐ ๐๐ ๐ฐ ๐๐๐๐ ๐๐ ๐๐๐๐ ๐๐๐ ๐๐๐๐ ๐๐๐'๐๐ ๐๐๐๐๐๐ ๐๐." Bria was the ultimate FMC who had no remorse and was willing to take down anyone to accomplish her goal. I loved watching her development from being closed off to opening herself up to Kap at the end. After all her trauma, she still gave in to her emotions without sacrificing who she truly was. Kaplan was the absolute dirtiest man hiding behind a discreet little mask of his own ๐ this man was into everything and I was here for it! And when he finally gave into his feelings ๐ฎโ๐จ Kaplan wasn't afraid to love and accept Bria for who she was and I loved how gentle he would treat her at all times ๐ฅบ and that library scene and desk scene, plus their first night in the cabin ๐ "๐๐๐ ๐๐๐ ๐๐๐๐๐ ๐๐๐ ๐๐๐๐ ๐ ๐ ๐๐๐๐ ๐๐ ๐๐๐...๐๐๐ ๐๐ ๐๐๐ ๐ ๐๐๐๐ ๐๐ ๐๐๐๐๐๐๐๐ ๐๐ ๐๐๐ ๐๐๐๐๐." And I cant forget the side characters! Fletcher was absolutely hilarious and I loved all her sass and her sense of humor! And I loved how wise and protective Samual was๐ฅบ this was such a fun read and I highly recommend it!
