iHealth Smart Wireless Gluco Monitoring with 100 Test Strips, 100 Lancets and Control Solution

This monitor works great. I really like the fact that I can upload readings to my phone or have the phone connect through bluetooth and the reading goes on the phone directly. This monitor has made it a lot easier to keep track of my blood sugar.

I purchased this so that my readings would automatically be uploaded into Apple's Health app. The only two things that this unit does well is upload the data to Apples system and provide a very nice chart that can be exported of your logbook. What this unit fails at is providing accurate readings. My very first reading out of the box returned with a blood sugar reading of 40, EXTREMELY LOW (this happened twice more throughout my testing phase). I had no symptoms of having low blood sugar and I immediately checked with my Bayer Contour One, which has provided me with consistent readings, and my blood sugar was 72. I redid it with the Smart testing kit and came back with a reading that was closer. Over the next few weeks I continually tested with both machines. The Smart system would occasionally be within 5-10 points of the Contour One. On many occasions it was off by almost 20 points and on several it was off by 30 points. I even ran the control solution through it several times and the unit still consistently provided results that were off (always low). Because of the inaccurate readings, I can't trust my health to it. At best it is worthless and at worst it can lead you into a false sense of security that your blood sugar levers are OK when they in fact are not. I will be going back to my Bayer Contour One unit that has provided me with accurate results.

I love the ease of the device and the app. It’s also a convenient size and the pouch holds everything. You can get some wild readings if you wipe your finger with an alcohol pad. It takes so little blood, that the alcohol can dilute it and cause a low read. I suggest just washing your hands and wiping away the first drop if blood.

I love this meter! I was diagnosed with gestational diabetes and I have to watch my numbers really closely. I wanted something that would track my numbers for me because I knew I wouldn’t write them down consistently. I love that it shows trends and will color the numbers differently if they’re high or low. Mine has worked perfectly with my iPhone 8. It works best if I open the app first and then insert the strip to turn on the device.

I ordered this meter/kit for my own personal health tracking. I don't have diabetes, but I am getting my weight down and have been concerned about hormone levels effect on that progress. That being said, I would not recommend this product for someone with diabetes. I received mine yesterday and started setup this morning. However, both boxes of strips get "code checksum errors" when I scan them. One of the first things I noticed when I opened the package was poor english grammar (I'm no scholar, but I expect professionals selling stuff to know and use good grammar). There is nothing listed in the troubleshooting section of the user manual of their website even though this is a know issue as other customers have encountered this problem (in reviews of strips on Amazon). When I contacted support by email, I got an email immediately saying they were closed for the next for days in recognition of Memorial Day. I a proud that they are celebrating our fallen, but they are selling glucometers. This is unacceptable for a company proclaiming to be in the health industry. Finding this issue caused me to look a little closer into their product (which I confess, I should have before purchasing). Many have had issues with accuracy. On their blog, they cite FDA regulations that allow them to be off by 15%. Please, don't tell me you are using government regulations as your guideline. I prefer doing business with people who have higher standards than that. I will be returning this thing and getting a different one as soon as I find a bluetooth iOS compatible glucometer worth buying.

At first I thought this meter was really convenient, but now I see it as a rip off. You only have 90 days to use the strips in a bottle. If you don't use them during that time period, then your meter will give an error message and refuse to use the strip. I haven't been diagnosed with diabetes, but I have periods where my blood sugar will spike or drop randomly. I was using this meter during the times I was having these issues to see if it was upor down so I'd know what corrective measure I need to take. So, as I'm currently having a dizzy spell, I go to test my glucose level and find I can't because my meter won't read my strips. So, I get to sit here and remain dizzy until it passes by itself. Product exactly as described. Arrived a little early. My Husband was recently told he was diabetic and we had no idea what to do. The simple monitor and bluetooth connection allowed him to regulate his sugar easily and move from liquid insulin to pills in just a few weeks. The bluetooth feature kept all of his information and history easily accessible for the doctor visits. I would highly recommend this product to anyone looking for a sugar/insulin management program.

I bought this on Sunday, came on Tuesday, and I go to use for the first time Wednesday morning, and the strips won't work in the machine, because they expired on 3/29/19. One reason I picked this unit, is because it says the strips will last longer than the others I looked at. But if they send you a set of strips that expired 4 months before you bought the unit, that isn't going to work. This pisses me off, as I just found out I needed to start doing this, and now I wasted this much time getting this unit.
