Look Stunning, and certainly do the (Chef's) Job!!!
This is a very good quality set of knives. I am what might be referred to as a 'home chef', which is to say I love cooking for my wife and myself but am in no way at all trained to cook - my main 'teacher' if you like has been for a long time Jamie Oliver but I follow other too if the recipe looks good. So, back to the Nanfang Brothers knife - they are excellent value for the price, six very useful size/type s of knives of this quality is, frankly, a bargain. Now to the detail; the two stars of this set are the chef's knife and the santoku knife. Both are are alone almost worth the asking price. The santoku knife in particular is far better than I expected. The patina is actually quite bright and shiny, something that doesn't seem to show in most images I've seen (see uploaded pics). These knives are, btw, sharp - really SHARP! How long the edge will retain this sharpness I cannot say as I have only had the set a short while. All I can say is they pass the 'tomato test' easily. Indeed the chef's knife almost falls through a tomato without attempting to cut, rather just a little slight movement to fire and aft is all that's needed. Regarding the off raised question, is it 'real Damascus steel' my short answer is, I don't know for sure. However, to my eyes it look like the real deal. Look closely at the pattern on the santoku knife, just below the 'm' in the printed word 'Damascus' and the layer lines follow precisely in the scooped out indentations (grantens I think they are called). This could of course be faked but strikes me as unlikely, you will have to make your own mind on this one. Honestly speaking for me it is a none-issue because these remain a superb set on chef's knives. Lastly, the wooden block. Mine is practically flawless, beautifully finished, and looks really good. It also keeps those incredibly sharp edges safely away from unsuspecting fingers, etc. All in all, so far, no hesitation in recommending this set. I have my last set for more than 10 years, these will probably last my lifetime and my children's!

Beautifully made and VERY sharp!
This set was actually priced at £199 when I put it on my wish list. A couple of days later when I was ready to order I found it had been reduced to £170, so feel I got a bit of a bargain. This might still sound a lot for a set of knives, but after doing a bit of research I found similar sets on other sites were a lot more expensive...anything up to £500. Anyway, I got these to replace a cheap set of Taylor's Eye Witness knives that cost me around £40. After having them for a couple of years, 2 of them recently snapped where the blade joins the handle (no through-handle tang). All I was doing was cutting cheese...it wasn't even particularly hard cheese either! So I decided to invest in a proper quality knife set. I could have gone cheaper, but knowing a bit about metallurgy, I wanted a set with damascus blades. Not only do they look beautiful, but they are extremely strong. In a nutshell, they are heavier and far, far sharper than my old set - a combination that allows them to cut much cleaner and easier. Handles are also very comfortable. You can really see and feel the quality. Expect these will last me many years.

Buy them
They’re high quality knives. Bought them for my partner, he loves them. Cut through really tough bits of meat with ease. They’re lovely to hold, the sharpener is really high quality and sharpens them well, not that they need it! Well worth the money!

Brilliant Knife Set
The knives are formidable, extremely sharp and the scissors well sprung and sharp. The block that houses them all is really solid and good looking. I would have had to pay way more money to find a set that equals this. Very pleased and would recommend to everyone.

Just Excellent
Presentation box meant something of excellence was within. Wooden block very well finished and a centre piece within anyone's kitchen. Add in the knives and whow. Knives are what is said within the description, beautifully constructed and razor sharp from top to bottom. As for their performance, they just slice through anything that is thrown at them. The scissors, cutting up meat is so simple. Wished we had bought these many years ago. Kudos gentlemen 😊👍

Rusted after a few weeks (not dishwashed or left wet)
Sharp knives that are good looking but rust has set in after only a few weeks. Never been washed in dishwasher or left wet. Sign of very poor quality and I would not advise to purchase these.

Do your research first to decide on what you really want.
I liked the value when on offer. The knives and shears are ok but I would like to see a good honing rod included as standard with any set. The quality of the wood block is so-so, whereas the the more expensive version in black is much nicer (the knives etc. in either sets are identical) Get the cheaper one and spray it in whatever colour or stain you like.
