Spring closure open hooks
This set is excellent. You get hooks, plugs and a specially designed tool to help screw the hooks in place... The tool can be attached to a cordless drill or cordless screwdriver, very clever idea. The hooks themselves are very sturdy with a simple but effective spring close mechanism. Ideal for clipping cables into that you want held in place but then remove the cable easily when no longer needed. Example : For outdoor Christmas lights that need to be secure but can be easily removed later and the hooks can stay in place for next time. Great value for money

Perfect
I got these hooks to hold up some string lights outside. They were very easy to put up. The little clasp bit is perfect for beeping things in as they can’t fall out. I got 24pcs set that was plenty to put up all of my light with some to spare. The instructions even tell you what size drill bit you need to put the plugs into. They are quite sturdy and would definitely be able to hold heavier items up, they also look ok as they are just black. The price is good for what they are and how many you get along with all the wall plugs.

We used to put up those removable hooks for holiday lights. You have to pick a properly dry day to put them up, make sure they stuck, and then keep an eye on the lights, because pretty much every night, one of the hooks (in spite of all that preparation) would fall off, taking a few feet of lights with it - giving your house that droopy-eyed look. The ladder pretty much spent the entire holiday season in the front of the garage. And then we remove the hooks, carefully putting them with their backing, at the end of the holidays, and look forward to the whole ballet again next year. With more preparation, this is a much better solution. These hooks are larger than the cup hooks that I had thought about using - 2.2 inches, with a 3/4 inch loop, and an opening of 1/2 an inch - and they have a clip on the front, so your light string stays put in the wind. The manufacturer puts the load-bearing weight at 40 pounds, so you could put a plant on one if you wanted, and it's iron coated with rust-resistant paint. You do have to invest up front: you've got drilling and installation ahead of you. You have to put a hole in first, using a 1/8 inch drill bit, put the provided plastic tub in the hole (if you're not drilling in wood), and then install the hook. But that's a one time installation, compared to years of ladder dancing with those removable hooks. We got 24 hooks and tubes in the package and now are looking forward to the holidays, instead of debating whether we'll bother with lights this year.
