great book for kindergarten and first grade
I used this book, along with realia, during Hispanic Heritage month activities for the kindergarten and first grade classrooms in my building. (I am an ESOL teacher.) The kids loved it!

This is by far my favorite book purchase to date
What a gem of a find! This is by far my favorite book purchase to date. The illustrations are beautiful and very detailed. I bought it to read to my one year old and can definitely see being able to use it for many years to come. One reviewer mentioned that the page about the Day of the Dead was too scary for young kids, but I disagree. The illustrations used to portray the celebration are cute and not frightening at all. If you can handle explaining to your kids the idea of carving a pumpkin on Halloween, this ONE page about Dia de los Muertos should be no different.

I ❤ this author!
I love this author. Everything she does is thoughtful and her words really bring culture into my world language classroom. Another great Spanglish story that can easily be used in a regular classroom. Talks about colors but brings in great cultural aspects too!

LOVE
Love love love. One of my favorite books for kids to learn colors in Spanish. The illustrations are beautiful and the rhyming is well done. My preschool kids loved it, but I'm sure you could read it to younger elementary students and they'd enjoy it as well.
