4 years later…my SereneLife personal sauna is still a beautiful experience
Someday I will have one of those lovely wooden infrared saunas in my bedroom. It feels wonderful and so healing after an illness, stressful day or a workout. Until that day, this is the next best thing. 4 years later it has not caught on fire (I check regularly. Those pictures in the reviews are scary) and this is the best 3x3 feet in my home.Does it take blankets to keep it at temperature? No. Do the blankets help? Yes. If I have someone near me I will have them drape a fuzzy polyester blanket over me and wrap my neck in a towel. When I first got this sauna I would try to drape a blanket over me while inside. That was too fumbly and took away from the relaxation of the experience and I get plenty warmth without it. It is just warmer and gets heated up faster with a cover.I see references to getting inside and then inserting the horizontal rods. I might be wrong but I dont think mine came with any back when I purchased this. Over time the top began to buckle and the sides did get closer and closer to my outer thighs each time I went in. Too hot to be that close so I got a pvc pipe cut to size (38”) and once I am in I just place it horizontally in front of the zipper and it stays all by itself. It took years for that to become an issue, though.I am average sized for a woman and I fit in very comfortably. The chair is still in great shape. I do put a towel over it to keep it from digging into my legs.Notes to make the experience even better.-I place a tea towel with a few drops of essential oil on it over the foot pad. This way it is not as hot on my feet and smells divine.-a folding tv tray nearby to hold your book, phone, noise machine and water is only $10 and so nice. Your arms can only do so much when they are peaking out of the zipper holes.-This is a great time for kindle reading with a remote page turner.-I keep my draping blanket on top all of the time so it can warm up even faster. It also makes sure my cat doesn't find her way inside in between uses.-Have a bathtub of cool water ready and instant “cold plunge” after you sauna…without the ice.-Dry brush right before your sauna.-Oil right after the sauna before you bathe. You will have the softest skin ever.-My sauna has never gotten stinky because I let it stay unzipped and open after use until fully cool and dry. That isnt long. I take my chair towel out and a the sauna is dry and cool after my shower.-I do not suggest a scrub right after. Just a washcloth is more than enough to exfoliate after a sauna. The moisture and extra circulation make skin too sensitive for a scrub right after.-I have kids so I am not going in naked. I searched and found the best thing to wear inside is loose cotton clothes. I got three pairs of cheap sofi shorts and lose cotton tank tops and I feel covered without blocking any infrared rays. :)----------------I bought this after hearing all of the news about how good a dry infrared sauna is for you. Skin, energy, sleep, muscle soreness after workout. I put off getting it for a while and then went for it. I am very glad that I did. It basically comes out of the box all put together. It just unfolds and you plug it in. The chair is not the most comfy and I put a towel on it to add some cushion to the sides of it. The front of the sauna lets some of the heat out so I have my husband but a blanket on it while I am in there. I can do it myself but I lose alot less heat if I hurry and enclose myself in the sauna and let him do the blanket drape. I am at about 140 degrees for half an hour every other day. I get a great sweat! But, I am comfy and come out feeling wonderful and not depleted. Someday, I will have a wooden one but for now this is a great step in the process.

This is a Modern Miracle
***Updated*** The sauna died just weeks before its one year anniversary with me, hence why I am knocking off a star. While that is frustrating, I still had a great experience with it. For me, the cost for this unit per use was nothing compared to how much a sauna session at a wellness center costs.Original Review:Under dr's orders, I'm supposed to be visiting an infared spa multiple times a week for the foreseeable future. (Trying to heal late-stage Lyme disease.) That's a tall order both financially and in terms of convenience/time. When I ordered this thing, I honestly presumed I would regret it but instead I find myself recommending this thing to everyone I know! Honestly, spending time detoxing in an infared spa is a great wellness endeavor for EVERY human body. And this little thing makes it affordable and easy for practically anybody. I'm a complete convert.I've been using it daily for about a month and have had zero issues. Like others have mentioned, it takes about 10-12 minutes to warm up to full strength, which is impressive to me. (It takes professional units at the gym hours to warm up to 140 degrees.) It has an automatic turn-off feature after an hour, which I appreciated the one time I forgot to turn it off. I got the gray color, which makes it not utterly unattractive. As others have mentioned, the foot pad gets HOT AS HELL. Absurdly hot. It's a nice feature but I do keep it on the lowest setting every session. I see someone in another review managed to burn a towel on it. That doesn't surprise me honestly. I wouldn't put ANYTHING below it or above it. Just use it as directed inside the tent with no additional layers on it and that will likely help to prevent overheating. I've got this tent sitting on top of an antique area rug over wooden floors and I've repeatedly checked to see if its causing any damage and the answer is no--the tent is so well insulated that it barely makes the floor/rug underneath warm. (But again, that's with keeping the separate foot warmer on its lowest setting.)I'm only 5'3" so I have a ton of room in it. (There's a bar inside that you are supposed to use each time to pop out the spa to its maximum fullness, but you have to lift it up out of your way to enter and exit the tent. It's no biggie to do that but I'm lazy so I don't bother to use the bar and still the sides of the spa don't collapse and touch any part of me.) My husband is only 5'10" ish and he has lots of room in it (without using the bar) as well. So don't worry if you're worried about a claustrophobic feel. (I LOVE that this has a hole for your head to stay outside the sauna for that reason. I can breathe easily and I don't feel "trapped" in any way while my body cooks for 40 minutes a day.) If you're tall/larger and are worried about the size I think it's still likely to work for you. First, you can use the bar to pop it out to its full capacity and its very roomy, but you could also make some very easy modifications and still have it work for you. For example you could just choose to not use the small folding chair it comes with and throw in a shorter/smaller stool or even milk crate or something. Also, if you don't like the feature that allows your head to pop out, there is a flap that closes over the head hole efficiently enough to seal in the heat and you can remove the chair it comes with and just crawl into the thing like a tent. Before I purchased, I was also afraid of the hygiene of this thing but I've had zero concerns with that after a month's use. What I do is throw an incredibly absorbent towel over the chair and I sit on that and it collects all my sweat. I also wrap a microfiber gym towel around my neck and that not only seals the space around the head hole from leaking heat, but it also absorbs my neck sweat from seeping into the cloth collar of the spa. And once I'm done with the spa each night, I leave it completely unzipped to allow any heat/moisture to evaporate in case any of my sweat didn't make it onto my towels. Per my worries about the foot pad heating up like a blazing sun, I never draped a towel over that but I've given it a wipe down with a cleaning wipe maybe once or twice a week when it is cool and dry and I'm telling you this thing is emitting zero odor. And that's with me using it 40 min a day, 6-7 times a week. And it's sitting in my living room because sadly there was no other place to put it so trust me people in my house would notice any smell. The directions say you can wipe down the inside with cleaning wipes and now that I've been using it for a month, I'm just going to go ahead and do that for my own peace of mind. But I've been utterly shocked that there isn't the hint of odor etc. I think it's because honestly all my dirty sweat and toxins run straight into the towel that gets thrown into the laundry bin after every use.If you need something like this or are remotely interested in this product, do not hesitate. It's awesome sauce.

Good for tight quarters and budget.
I live in an already cramped apartment (my front room is kitchen, office, and home gym), so this was the perfect sauna for my situation. Good for recovery especially combined with cold plunge in the tub. Also good for quick and effortless weight cuts as a grappler.

Waste of money but DIY ended up fixing it
Bought this in May 2024 and loved it! It just died today (less than a year) while I was using it. I contacted customer support to see if they could replace or give me guidance on what might be wrong with it but they were little to no help saying that since I bought it used - like new conditions (though I bought it new - price reflects buying new as well - but since there was 1 in stock, I guess it sold before I purchased so they sent me a used one). They couldn’t do anything about it and suggest I take it to my local repair shop and also offered a $10 off coupon for a product on their website. I would definitely suggest just buying a nicer one for a little more money because this is an absolute WASTE of $250. Will be buying a replacement but not from this company. EVER.Update: I broke open the electrical control panel on the back of the sauna and a wire connector was completely disconnected. I reconnected it and tightened the other wires, plugged it in and it works just fine now. I had to duct tape the electrical box back together but I avoided spending another $250
