It was a promised a CISCO ASA5505. Power supply was included but nothing else and the unit had not been reset to factory defaults. Software ver. was 8.4(5) Since I am using this to brush up on my CISCO techniques and knowledge finding and going back over the reset procedures was a good reminder of the boot modes and CMOS equivalent configurations, so this actually was a plus. The lack of any manual was difficult, but you can find the quick start guide on-line. Several other small teething problems (mostly revolving around ASDM depending on JAVA and most modern browsers not wanting to place with JAVA at all. Again for my purposes this is actually all to the good as discovering how to overcome these challenges is good knowledge to bring both to troubleshooting for employment and for certifications. Especially the higher level ones where practical knowledge counts.
