Probiotics should be one of those holy grail “supplements”, without much discussion about how great they are. Unlike other supplements, they have been long researched with some pretty amazing results. But not all of them are created equal. These little microorganisms come in the trillions, so science still need to catch up. Before healthy origins I was having a very popular brand, with 5B CFU. And yes, the blend was genuine, but the price was too high for 60 count and low concentration. So with all this in mind, I started my own search for a new probiotic for my needs. Eh, not easy at all with so many brands and marketing. I was looking to recover my intestinal flora (all the floras indeed!), and add some skin defense. Impossible huh? Not so much. There are probiotics for rosacea, acne dermatitis , UV sun protection, anti aging..., And finally I founf it, and I was so glad to see how many good strains they had, and 30 billion. So, this has lactobacilis breve, Lactobacillus rhamnosus and Lactobacillus plantarum. They are very rare to find in the same composition, and are good for UV protection and therefore anti aging, with photo-protective properties. Ramnosus is also used to treat eczema and other skin-inflammation conditions. It also has Lactobacillus acidophilus (increases naturally lactic acid production), and together with Bifidobacterium lactis and Bifidobacterium longum, they also reduce skin sensitivity, good for overall health, best for acne and acne inhibition, B.lactis has even shown in research good results in insulin regulation (paper: Acne vulgaris, probiotics and the gut-brain-skin axis - back to the future?) Lactobacillus casei is one of the best for reducing skin sensitivity, helping immune system function for reduced eczema. So basically almost after getting blind reading at all the composition facts lists, I found this gem, with the best strains, good amount and above all, excellent price. If you are looking to improve the probiotic game, this is for you! Of course there are other good options there, but no need to go broke to enjoy the benefits

I've been using this SHELF-STABLE product for 9+ years and I like its QUALITY, VALUE and the way it WORKS for me. Healthy Origins probiotic formula is a 8 strain / 30 bil. CFU bespoke (Danisco/IFF Flora Fit) formula. It regulates and enhances my digestive capabilities to process a wider variety of foods than I could in the past, without experiencing undesirable reactions from their consumption. This probiotic has completely eliminated my need to use acid reducers and digestive enzymes that I needed in the past, before I started using this product. Additionally, completely eliminating caffeine and alcohol from my diet, in addition to using this probiotic, has allowed me to eat virtually anything I want without any indigestion or constipation ever. My immune system performance has also benefited from its regular daily usage. I appreciate the 150 ct, quantity size that lasts 5 months, it provides Great value and convenience. Because it's SHELF-STABLE it doesn't REQUIRE REFRIGERATION, that helps keep their potency at a very high level until you finish the bottle. Overall this is a great product. I HIGHLY recommend these!

I have been taking probiotics for about a year and a half. I started with ones I got from the doctor, which were costing $50 for 60 capsules. They worked very well to keep me from getting a yeast infection while taking (very strong) antibiotics for my chronic sinus infections. In fact, I use that prevention as a gauge of whether the probiotic is effective. My normal dosage is one capsule daily, but I up that to two (one a.m. and one p.m.) when I'm on antibiotics. My doctor had recommended I take a probiotic with no less than 20 billion CFUs, and that it include a number of bifidobacterium and lactobacillus strains. In an effort to save money, I ordered some of VitaCost's house brand probiotics that met my doctor's criteria. When the time came to take an antibiotic, they were ineffective at preventing a yeast infection, so I turned to this brand on Amazon. Once I had taken these twice daily for a few days, the yeast infection cleared right up. There are other claims for probiotics (improved immunity & digestion, etc) which I am unable to evaluate at this point, but I know they must be doing something if they can prevent a yeast infection while on strong antibiotics. Due to nasal irrigation, improved medication, and some other measures, I am not getting as many sinus infections as I did in the past, so fortunately I don't need to take the strong antibiotics quite as often. But if I do, I can count on these probiotics to minimize the side effects.

Do these work, or is it the placebo effect? Are probiotics in general effective, or aren't they? The jury seems to be out, or at least wishy-washy, on these points. That said, I do notice less intestinal distress and more regularity when I use these (2x/day, once in AM and again in PM). I eat fairly healthily but don't believe I get enough roughage in my diet (almost nobody does), and I'm partial to my cheese/chocolate and other, ahem, binders. These are worth a try if you're on the fence about whether you want to add probiotics to your supplement repertoire; they're fairly cost-effective and also come in a 50-capsule size if you don't want to take the 150-cap plunge.

To provide stability of good bacteria in the body.. take 3 capsules at one go if anyone in the family has diarrhoea and it will stop. Very good!

I've tried about a dozen probiotics - at least! been using this probiotic for years. When taken with a magnesium chelate or citrate supplement, keeps me regular. And it's boosted my gut health and immune system. When I run out of this one, I try something else if I can't find this easily - but I always come back to this brand and forumulation.

Without doubt the best probiotic I've ever used - and I've tried a LOT! I take two per day (=60 billion CFUs) and have never felt better. Shelf stable (no need for fridge - great for travel). Bacteria survive stomach acid. A very powerful health aid.
