Great alternative to small GMRS
Love the remote. Placed it in my glove box.Mileage will depend on mounting point, seriously ground as much as possible.Ensure you bond your body to frame, tailgate/trunk/and or hood!Your volume will matter depending where you mount the head unit. Not super loud. Includes external Mike Jack for the top off and deaf. Easy peasy.Multiple backlight and easy to remember button layout.Tx/Rx is good. Getting 6-10 miles rolling the burbs. Woods a little less.Good little rig. Not as many whistles as a c29, but I need the space more than the "look at my big bling box" radio. Backs up my portable Midland for spotting.Satisfied.Will probably back this up with GMRS on the other mount...for days when I feel like getting out.

Awesome little radio.
Look I have owned CB radios all my life. I have been a trucker since 1990. I purchased this radio due to its compact size. I wanted it in my new Toyota tundra I use for my work truck now. This was a little on the tookmsome work to install but that is because I am picky and I went out through my firewall to the battery and truck steel mounts for my ground and hid all my wires. The radio works beautiful, its small it fits very nicely unto my pickup and I could not be happier. Coming from me, a diehard Cobra fan. This is a very nice, well working and wonderful featured cb radio.

Excellent radio, requires some existing knowledge of radios.
I read all the beeping and “not working” reviews and decided to give it a shot anyway. The form factor of this radio was important to me due to a lack of places to mount a larger radio. As others had mentioned, the extension that this radio comes with is NOT SHIELDED so it accepts a lot of interference from ambient signals (causing it to not transmit clearly). One of the solutions to this is as others have said is to add a ferrite choke with a loop in the wire, OR like I did, just buy a shielded cat6 extension (make to female). After I did this, I did notice that about one in 3 tries I was getting the Morse code sounding beeping that others had mentioned. It turns out that this is caused by having a high SWR or grounding issue. I had both. As soon as I corrected the grounding issue, and the high SWR by tuning the antenna, it now works perfectly and I don’t hear the beeping at all.I plan on using this in another vehicle as well. It’s a great radio, the features and form factor can’t be beat for the price. It’s a little sensitive to interference though, but if you correct those issues you won’t have any problems! Hope this is helpful for someone who was tentative like me.

I own and operate a reputable CB Shop, must read, serious review below.
This radio is a pile of junk. I once thought it was going to be a great alternative to the Cobra comparable model. The CMX560 was a much better radio. However, this CMX760 being a good radio is not the case. This radio seems to have many bugs in it. Uniden is of NO help to get it repaired. I remember when Uniden was the greatest for both quality and service. This is no longer the case. I believe the quality of the radio to be good. There are many screws holding the guts together. The design looks thoughtful. The quality is decent. A few things like the mic switch should, in my opinion should be upgraded and less chintsy-fied. This radio seems to be plagued with both CPU problems as well as problems with the radio hanging up in transmit mode, thus overheating the radio and blowing the final, also cutting the receive due to the fact that it is hung up in transmit. Uniden provides no support nor schematics. You will simply have to send the radio in for warranty repair. For an all in one mic radio, at this point, I feel you are likely best off purchasing the Midland 75-822 and buying a Workman DM-100 lapel mic. If this does not suit you, try to find an Anytone Apollo II. The Anytone Apollo I is plagued with issues.

Get's the job done
Nice little radio, mount's in small vehicles without looking silly. I originally had it mounted in my glove-box, but had to move it. The Mic extension cable causes issues such as weak transmit power and/or stuck in transmit. These issues go away without using the extension. Been getting good contacts bearfoot about 2miles out (your mileage may vary).

Same Experience as Other 1-Star Reviewers Until I Got a Good Antenna
Bought this radio because it seemed perfect for my JL - I could mount it out of sight in a space-limited vehicle and it had all the features I wanted. When I first installed it with the mic extension connected, I got no transmit power and nothing but beeping out of the hand set. With it removed and the mic connected directly to the unit, I had full transmit power interrupted by periods of varying-frequency squeals (depending on how stretched out the mic cord is).I was sure that I had a well-matched antenna, but it was old, so I ponied up for a new one, and that made all the difference in the world. With the new antenna, I get great reception and full transmit power with no feedback. I'm glad I didn't give up on this little radio, as it's a super clean install in the Jeep.
