I learned our 6 year old foster son, wasn't even at a Kindergarten reading level. Mostly due to distant learning through 1/2 of pre-k and all of Kindergarten. I decided to try Hooked on Phonics.He was excited from the first video. We worked on it 20 minutes each school night, and moved on to the next two levels. 4 months after the first level we purchased and he is now ready everything! He has gone from the bottom of his class in reading to now the top. His teacher is extremely impressed with his progress and how quickly he progressed.He is now ready books for 2nd and some 3rd grade.I myself have learning disabilities visual and auditory dyslexia. I wish this would have been an option for my parents when I was a child. Learning to read as a older teen to early 20's, is extremely difficult. It's so important to learn read in the first years of school, and the Hooked on phonics program WORKS!I 100% recommend Hooked on Phonics even before there is even a sign of a struggle.If we would have had our foster son as a younger child we would have started him from the beginning level.Give your children, grandchildren, nieces, nephews, or any child the gift of reading.I will continue purchasing the next levels as we master them.

Hooked on phonics is a fantastic program, and the online portion makes it even better

My kindergartner was struggling the first semester of school. I was getting worried because he was struggling to retain sight words. I struggled each night while doing homework and especially during reading time. After the 1st lesson my son started to show improvement. Today we had a conference with his teacher and she said that she noticed a big difference in his confidence and excitement to learn. This is just the jumpstart that we needed. The kit is very minimal but it’s so helpful. The workbook is easy and the lessons are not long. The DVDs are are short and simple and kept my sons attention. Looking forward to purchasing the next level for him.

I stand by Hooked on Phonics 1,000%!!! In my opinion , this is what's missing in the schools... PHONICS. With this program your child/student can be ready in good time. Comes with instructional dvd , a workbook, 6 small starter books with one slightly bigger book for your child and reward stickers . Pop in the DVD , let your child sit in front of the television with his/her workbook and get started!!

Hooked on Phonics products are absolutely amazing! My mother bought this for me when I was young, and now I am buying it for my children! The DVD that is included is awesome! It combines fun videos and songs, along with learning new words! Its definitely another great resource for parents to help their children learn to read!

We purchased this for my five-year-old daughter who is doing school at home this year. The video lesson is very short, but the workbook takes quite a long time. Wish there was a little bit more for them to watch, but all in all pretty good.

My kid looked through the video once then read all of the books that came with it on her own.

My son started learning very fast and it greatly increases kids confidence by the way that this book is designed . Thanks hooked on phonics.

I've used Hook On Phonics for my children over the years so I knew what I was getting in to already. My daughter is struggling with reading. This program has helped in a very short amount of time. Short, interesting lessons have kept her engaged. Small goals and easy to read books have helped her to feel very succesful. This is a great program.

This program is great to help start your child's reading. Simple and fun for your toddler and most importantly logical with a step by step approach to teaching. My 4 year old is quickly catching up to his 6 year old brother with his reading. The early exposure sure made a difference for him. We initially bough the set up for our older son who's in grade one. Then bought an earlier level for our younger son. They are almost at the same level for reading. I also believe this system has been around for decades and it shows why... it works!
