Bought in 2015, still using today.
I bought this 8 years ago and I'm still using it. I have a larger monitor now, but the stand still performs the same. It freed up a lot of space on my desk and gave me extra storage space. I love it!

Good option for larger monitor stand
Holds my monitor, sturdy, looks fine. Room to put my soundbar, mouse, and keyboard under it. Nice product.

AAAAA+++++AAA+++
Very sturdy and ergonomically designed! I purchased for my monitor and ended up buying another one for my kid. Instead of buying an expensive computer desk set, just get a table and buy an Allsop monitor stand!

Excellent sturdy support for a large display monitor or it is also an excellent support riser/stand for a large 17-inch laptop.
இ Fuzzy Wuzzy's Summary:ѾѾѾѾѾ Highly recommended with warm fuzzies!Packaging, Style, Appearance: ѾѾѾѾѾ Excellent 5-fuzzies ratingConstruction & Build Quality: ѾѾѾѾѾ Excellent 5-fuzzies ratingCompetitive Pricing & Value: ѾѾѾ Average not-good not-bad 3-fuzzies ratingփ Positives:փ High build quality with good welds and smooth semi-gloss black enamel coating.փ Strong steel tubular legs can support up to 40 pounds.փ If you use this as a laptop riser stand by placing a laptop on the top shelf, the surface is perforated with many holes to allow for great air circulation and heat dissipation.ჯ Negatives:ჯ There are no negatives with this product :-)This is an excellent solidly built steel stand that both looks attractive with its uniform semi-gloss black enamel coating and can support a large computer display monitor or any other item weighing up to 40 pounds. You can either place this on your desk or on a table or countertop (e.g. some people have a computer in their kitchen) to organize your computer/laptop/keyboard/display layout better.This monitor stand weighs 3.4 pounds and has outer dimensions of: 18.5" width x 12.25" depth x 5.25" height. The top shelf has surface dimensions of: 18.25" width x 10.0" depth. The space underneath the shelf is 17.25" wide, which is the 18.5" outer width minus the width of the two tubular legs. The space underneath the shelf has a usable height of 4.5", which is the 5.25" outer height minus the height of the tubular metal that supports the top shelf.Even though this is advertised as a "monitor stand", I am using this as a laptop stand, placing a 17-inch laptop on top of the shelf. My computer desk already has a raised shelf where my two display monitors are positioned, and my desk has an adjustable keyboard tray where my keyboard and mouse reside. I have multiple desktop and laptop computers, so sometimes I place one laptop underneath this stand's shelf, with its lid closed and a VGA cable connecting that laptop to a larger monitor, and another 17-inch laptop sits on the top shelf of this stand. When placing a laptop on this stand (where I use a separate Bluetooth keyboard instead of the laptop's own keyboard), the stand's perforated metal surface functions like a ventilated platform to help cool the laptop. Since many laptops have their fan intake vents located underneath the laptop, it is advantageous that this stand's shelf surface is a perforated metal grill to allow for great air circulation all along the bottom of the laptop. Most of the other laptop riser-stands are either made of flimsy plastic or metal mesh that is too thin with too much flex in the structure.But regardless of whether you need to place a large display monitor, a large laptop, or other item, this stand serves as a simple, sturdy, and modern-looking support.

6 years and still going strong!
Sturdiest little monitor stand ever. I bought this September 5, 2015 and it has had multiple iMacs/Displays/files/TV/etc. on it during that time. (I also have two of the larger/double Allsop Metal Art Printer Stand with Shelf for Printers, Monitors, Laptops, TV's). I've move office and/or house every few years, it seems. This little workhorse has always shifted with me.... and has also spent extra time knocking around in my storage unit lately - unprotected. With three desks, two standing since 2020, I've been using this small riser off and on since the pandemic depending on the project/work. I came online to check the dimensions before I pulled it out of my porch storage because I want to raise a bamboo desktop drawer unit. (Which, of course, it does beautifully - with room underneath for Letter/A4 size files.) I can't believe how anyone could fault this monitor stand! I wondered whether Allsop had maybe changed the materials or the manner of manufacturing, but it doesn't look like it.... It's virtually the same weight as listed on this site. I'm attaching photos - please know that all the scratches and dirt are mine alone. Also, the photos were taken on top of a shiny curved surface (my chest freezer), so they aren't that great. It looks like there is a dent of some sort on the front left, but that is a reflection. There are no dents after all this time. This Allsop monitor has taken a beating! ....But it's still as functional (and cool-looking) as the day I bought it in 2015. Such a great investment.

Monitor stand
Purchased it to place my monitor on it and raise it to eye level. I can also slide my laptop under the shelf for storage.

Does what it needs to, but uneven
EDIT: I managed to fix the unbalancing by just pressing down on the legs (again, kind of a difficult feat if you've maybe skipped a few workout days), so I'm much happier with the stand now.ORIGINAL REVIEW:I just received the stand. There is no assembly required. It just comes as it appears in the picture. I'm glad I ended up getting the Junior size, because it's the perfect size for my 13.3" laptop. However, it's definitely unbalanced. One of the legs is lifted slightly higher than the other. Since it came in one single piece, there's no way for me to attempt to adjust it. (At the very least, it's very sturdy, so it has that going for it.) That's not necessarily a deal breaker for me; my plan is to simply rest my laptop on it, and since I have a wireless keyboard, there isn't going to be constant pressure on the stand. Additionally, my laptop has its weight distributed pretty evenly, so I don't anticipate the stand toppling or upsetting any time soon. However, I can see if you have a larger monitor, where the weight is concentrated on one side/area, an uneven stand would be cause for worry. As it stands for me, the unevenness is merely an annoyance.Would I recommend this to someone else? Probably not. There are probably cheaper monitor stands out there that are more consistently made. Am I still going to use this stand, though? Jury's still out, but right now I'm leaning toward yes. If there's anything in the future that changes that position, though, I won't be sorry to see this go.

Bought this item in 2015 and still using it...
I purchased this item back in 2015 for $25 and I am still using it on my desk to raise a monitor until today. It is made out of solid metal and is very sturdy. It is high enough so that you can store some items (I currently have a few books) under it.Would recommend if you're looking for a good stand for a monitor/laptop.

This stand is great value for money, that's it
Look, I'm not the type to have an Instagram worthy working desk. I just want my monitor at the right level so I don't slouch and look like the hunchback of Notre Dame by the time I'm in my 40s. This stand does the job. At roughly 15$ it is by far the cheapest option I've come across. The unit itself is pretty sturdy with very little play (for comparison reasons, take my monitor stand that I bought from Staples for 30$, that is the exact same shape, and is about the the same sturdiness - as in the amount of weight it can hold and wobbliness when under load). With that said, unless you live in earthquake prone regions, this stand is pretty good. My monitor sits upon it proud and stable. It has enough room underneath for you to tuck some stationary under and out of sight. Now why only 4 stars? Well this thing is not a looker. In fact, if my desk wasn't so messy, this thing would be downright ugly. From far, it's not offensive, but having this thing under your monitor within scrutinizing distance, you can see that the top sheet metal was not welded on the straightest and the logo was painted on by someone with a rattle can and masking tape then finished off with a decal. Little to no quality assurance I take it. But that hasn't effected the important parts of the build, such as the unit's sturdiness. It's just ugly. The point is, this item is strictly utilitarian. I don't care how my desk looks. It's always a mess. So for 15$ this is a steal. It raises my monitor and that's all it does. The space underneath it gives me is a plus. But it's not a quality piece. And you shouldn't expect that for 15$. Regardless, I would buy another one. Because I don't care how it looks and so far, it's doing it's job just as well as my more polished Staples monitor stand.
