Great quality comfortable office daily beater
This is an amazing value watch. Compared to Casio/Timex , this is a great value, especially considering this is all stainless steel vs. resin with metallic coating. It doesn’t feel like junk. Don’t get me wrong, this isn’t a watch you’ll necessarily want to wear to the next dinner party or wedding, but for just every day wear it’s awesome. Everything functions as it should and is very intuitive. Gives you all you need. The retro look is fun and it doesn’t look like a toy. On my 7.25 inch wrist it’s extremely comfortable. At 34.5mm, when I first put it on, it looked small. After a couple hours of typing and looking at it, I changed my mind. It’s not too small. I’ve just been programmed over the years to think anything under 40mm is too small for a man. It’s actually a great fit and appropriate size for what it is. I’m summary, if you’re thinking about it, go for it. If nothing else, it’s a charming office beater. Most of all, it’s the complete opposite of pretentious. It takes some confidence initially to pull it off, but once you have, it’s personally rewarding. Update: the hourly chime is nice and loud. Love it.

Full. Steel. Digital. Watch. Take notes, Casio. And every other digital watch maker.
Yes, the LED light is useless. Yes, it's not as big as modern men's watches. No, I don't care. Why? Because this isn't chrome-plated resin. Steel, baby. Steel. Behold its stainless glory! And that retro look - based on a model from around 1984, the Armitron 40/6343, aka the Swimmer. This new model is called "The Rubik." Every time I look at it, it makes me smile. It keeps pretty good time, it's now about 2 seconds faster than my atomic radio clock since I synced them up about 10 days ago. It's supposed to be a Miyota (Citizen) movement in there, from their affordable Q&Q line of watches, model M173. They certainly look like the same display in pictures, but advantage goes to Armitron for the steel case instead of resin. Also, the mesh band is brilliant and doesn't pull hair. The other style band this watch can come with is known to do that, from what I've heard. The only real knock I have on this watch (besides the light) is the acrylic crystal, but at this price point it's not a big deal to me. So long as you don't mind the light being a meme - heck, even if you do mind - this watch is a solid retro throwback that oozes that 80's style. Also, did I mention it's cased in stainless steel? ^_^

Very Retro...Maybe a bit too retro...
The best way to describe this watch is that it looks and feels like it was manufactured in 1983 but sat on a shelf in a Kmart until it was finally sold in 2023 when the store went out of business (and the battery was miraculously still good). If you want a vintage watch that is a perfect replica, warts and all, then oh boy this is the watch for you!!! The display and watch itself are both rather small which could be considered either a good or bad thing for the person wearing it. It could be a comfortable watch for a Woman but smallish for a large man It can be a bit hard to read if you don't have great vision. The light is pretty much useless like you would expect from a watch from the early 1980s. On the plus side, it is well made and heavy for it's size and has a nice band. This is not a watch for everyone, but I can see some people really liking it if they know what they are getting. It's a 3.5 out of 5 for me, but since Amazon doesn't allow half stars I round down.

A great option if you have to have a steel cased digital watch
The Rubik has a definite heft with a stainless steel case and a Milanese bracelet. This looks like a direct answer to the Casio A158WA. The watch module itself has some really neat pros but a few cons + The second time zone feature is really nice to have. The Casio A158WA doesn't have this. + There's a full MM-DD-YYYY date display that you can access with a button + Stainless steel case feels solid and hefty (could be a pro or a con.) But it does feel durable. + Milanese bracelet is flexible and pretty good quality for the price. This should be nice in the summer. + I like the acrylic crystal. It's extremely strong and easy to buff out scratches. A mineral glass crystal works better if you have a raised bezel to protect it. + The module clearly labels the LCD functions as ALARM and CHIME on the home screen (which I like) - Alarms and chime are not as loud as its Casio competitors (but uses a slightly higher pitch) - Significantly heavier than a Casio A158WA and a little thicker - The buttons and pushers don't feel as easy to operate as a Casio and are a bit stiff. - The module and display are deeper into the case than a Casio, making it a little harder to read - There's a bit more ghosting on the display when viewing at an angle, and the viewing angles are just harder to read than the Casio modules. - The numbers on the digital module are smaller and narrower than a Casio A158WA. I prefer the Casio's readability a lot more. - The LED backlight is identical to the Casio's. Just a side LED on the left. But because the module's numbers are smaller and farther to the right, the light can't illuminate it that well, making it even harder to read. If the stainless steel case is important to you, this is the one to go for. It's a good watch and it's way cheaper than the steel Casio A1000. Everything else in this price bracket is almost always plastic or resin. I'm really glad to see Armitron making a great effort for their everyday digital watches - This is such a nice little watch. But I still prefer the Casio A158WA at the end of the day for its light weight, lower cost, proven durability, and easier to read module.

Nice but definitely budget.
First, it works great keeps time and has a very audible beep. However there back light is almost useless, you can hour but not much else. You can see the time better in the picture than in actual person. Also the angled contouring of the case at the top left is different than the rest as if it was that sharp corner was ground off. For the price and the materials used. This is acceptable for me. Pros: Good materials Price Ease of use Cons: Light Quality control

This watch is truly impressive to me. The watch has a different color than the first one, which is the second one. Both casual and formal events are suitable for the watch's style and elegance. It keeps track of time accurately and is even more impressive in person than on camera. This watch is highly recommended because of its excellent quality, despite the price.
