Nanoleaf is the OG of the lights game and nothing I have ever bought from them has failed me, as long as you read the instructions and do it correctly. The image is of this product plus one 3-lightbar expansion pack, following one of the recommended designs... and it looks extremely cool. The app is intuitive and functional, the lights themselves are easy to install (way easier than the hex lights (of which I have 25 & 7) to install and add on to), and the possibilities seem endless. My favorite function is the "make your own scene," where you can customize your own color schemes, music receptiveness, and flows/movements of color! I should mention that the pairing can be pretty glitchy, but once the lights are paired, there are no more issues. With all of the lights I've had over the years, there has always been some sort of connection issue that required troubleshooting, but nothing someone that is moderately determined can't push through. GET THE LIGHTS if you can, they completely redesign a whole room and are the coolest thing to happen to modern lighting!!

Nanoleaf is one of the best brands for native HomeKit support in my opinion. These are a unique decoration that are fully supported by HomeKit. Setup took a few extra minutes for the very first install, but after you do it once, it is a breeze. Yes, it is a little pricey, but you get what you pay for in my opinion. I only had one issue out of the box, and that had to do with one part of the brackets. The very last line that I was installing wouldn’t light up properly. It would just glow a very faint white while the others were playing a native Nanoleaf scene. This was confusing. So I swapped that line with another that was playing properly, and that one turned to the same faint white. So I decided to change the angle to the one below that, and it worked fine. I’m guessing there was a flaw in the particular connecting angle that was originally chosen. But it is working fine now.

The lighting is awesome. I love what they do to my room. The Nanoleaf app is catastrophically bad. And you need it, because many functionalities are inaccessible via Apple home. Fortunately, not every day. They don’t stick super well to the wall. Mine came down crashing after half a year, but fortunately didn’t break. Ended up using 3m tape, the red one. So far seems ok. The price is hefty. but: hey’re the only game in town, Chinese imitations are sub par. I would say it’s worth the spend, having nice lighting is a big deal.
