SamaN Interior One Step Wood Seal, Stain and Varnish – Oil Based Odorless Dye - Protection for Furniture and Fine Wood (Dark Walnut SAM-314, 32 oz)

Used this product to finish my stairs. Handrails are wood, side trim is laminate, and trim under the shelf is rubbery compound stuff. It was priced reasonably, delivered quickly, and provided the desired finish. I don’t usually like stain, but was pretty pleased with this product. One 32oz tin was easily enough for three coats plus touch ups. I’ve still got over quarter of a tin left. The tin recommended using a natural bristle brush, which I used for the first coat. It was horrible and uneven. I then bought foam brushes from Amazon and used them for the other coats. This was much better and easier. Ignore the recommended brushes and use foam, it will make things much easier. The bristle brushes didn’t clean up very well, and the foam brushes are pretty much disposable after a couple of uses. Overall I was happy with this product, and you can see from the photos that the finish is okay (though I’m not an expert as you can see).

This stuff works like a dream. I used a cheap orbital sander with 200 grit on the wood before applying the product, and it worked out perfectly. Each coat makes it slightly darker, and it took about three layers of the product to get the shade I wanted. It dries remarkably quick and doesn’t give off any odours. I found foam rollers worked best over sponges or brushes, and a little bit goes a very long way. It was also very easy to clean up any stray drips.

I restored an old cabinet of pine for a tv stand. It came out beautifully. It actually is stain and varnish in one. Made my life easy..

Ordered the Dark Walnut to bring an old barn wood frame back to life. Very easy to work with. A little darker than the picture in the add but still very pleased with the outcome. Was able to keep the weathered look of this old frame.
