Well, I guess when Halloween is over, you unplug it and rebox it. That's how we did it.

What all do i need to purchase separately in order for this to function properly?

What is it not doing? When mine jumps out I did have to anchor the back plastic part of it to the ground so it wouldn’t keep moving up but other than that that’s all I had to do.
