Good seeds!
These seeds grew fast and it did produce corn. I gave them lots of water and sunlight and they got pretty big. Unfortunately I had a bug problem at no fault to the corn but I wasn’t able to actually eat the corn because of it. I would recommend these seeds though because they did grow fast and did produce. I ended up putting them in pots this year so I’m hoping that helps instead of in the ground so far they’re doing really well. I added both photos, one when I had them in the ground and the other one is in the pot. For reference I’m in Southern California and started them at the end of May for this year in the containers and June last year for the in ground ones.

I think they are good?
Overall I had good success planting these. Most of them sprouted (I think only 2 out of 16 didn’t). As they are growing though, I’m noticing that a couple of them have purple silks and tassels, while the others are the light yellow that is common with corn we see in the store. I don’t know if this is a sign that something is wrong, or if it’s a different variety that somehow made it into this batch of seeds. They haven’t grown to maturity yet, so I can’t speak for that. But they are growing tall and even caught up to some that I had planted earlier in the year.

NOT the magical bean stalk?
But I bet this is the magical corn kernel ! I paid $6.99 for 75 kernels of corn from the old farmers almanac site. What a wonderful surprise and a marvelous achievement, guaranteed to save millions of dollars in shipping costs. They have managed to reduce 75 colonels into one small container that looks exactly like one single grain of maize. This saves time and energy and money and makes writing a review a breeze too. I will get back to you with photographs of how wonderful the harvest is in about 90 days or so. I look forward to seeing this magical harvest. Recalling that, as a child, I was always discouraged from magical thinking, but I think those who discouraged me had it all wrong and the old farmers’ almanac has it right Yes. Big GRIN!
