Shower Hose - Ideal Standard Idealflex Universal 1.75m Shower Hose, Chrome, BE175AA

I tried a cheaper version of a smooth plastic shower hose from another manufacturer that unfortunately started to bulge and split quite quickly. This one however is holding up very well and feels much more solid. I bought the 2m, which is nice and long and can rotate freely at both the tap and the shower head end so that it's easy to move around and doesn't tangle or get twisted easily. For over the bath use with it connected to a tap on the bath rim I really think you need 2m - the 1.5m we tried before just wasn't enough to put the shower head at a reasonable height. I like the smooth easy to clean surface for practical reasons, but also it suits our modern bathroom. A big reason however is that I didn't want a metal hose dragging and scraping on our bath tub during use.

Looks good, easy to wipe clean. If fitting to mixer taps on bath can be a bit awkward and tight to get it to bend.

Buying again, that tells you its pukka! The key is, the connecting valve caps can spin independently of the hose thus preventing stress on the usual snap/break points. I go for 2m, the prefect length imho.

Needed to replace a Mira shower hose which was leaking and was reluctant to pay the original manufactures (OEM) high price and tried this. Not only did it fit perfectly but the pipes swivel in their end connectors without leaking which reduces hose twisting or kinking and is an improvement on the OEM original. Has the same silver look as the expensive original and is in my view better. It does however come packed with some kinking which takes a few days to fall out when installed but it comes good quite quickly. Nice replacement for a similar Mira shower hose.

When i first got it i found the fitting to the the mixer and the shower head very stiff to turn and the shower hose did not sit sit easily against the wall.. After a month i took both ends off and pushed them up so i had the center core exposed. I then drizzled a little shower gell into the shower hose at both ends. This formed a type of lubricant. This allows me to turn both the shower head and the mixer fitting end 360 degrees with no stiffness . I have only done this once in the last 9 months and the shower hose moves perfect and sits well.

This is my 2nd purchase of this particular shower pipe. The 1st was over 2.4 meters long and used in the children’s bathroom, after 3 years of heavy use (& abuse as you what 10-13 year old are like) it’s still going strong. This time I fitted in a guest shower room and it looks the job especially in the Silver Finish.
