Outdoor Solar Powered Groundhog Repellent Stakes
Hello Again.Well, spring has arrived in Michigan and so has the return of a female ground hog and 2 or 3 pups, passing right by the "Repellent" Stakes every time they come and go from underneath my deck. This has been a waste of my time, money and effort. Don't waste yours on this product.I have been trapping groundhogs and an occasional raccoon from under my deck FOR YEARS. I have tried a variety of spray and granular repellents for years as well without success. When I discovered the Redeo Sonic Repellent Stakes I was interested but skeptical but for the price and the option to return them I purchased four of them to stake out around my deck. They are easy to install and you can hear the little "buzz" sound they make and you know what? THEY ACTUALLY WORK! After using them for the last 60+ days, I would suggest trying them for your rodent problem as well.

Take the advertised coverage area with a grain of salt.
These things do indeed work but it’s been my experience they do not necessarily cover the advertised 5000’ area. That’s equivalent to a 40-foot diameter circle. We put some in the lawn over a year ago around the house and they help well enough. But this year I have a critical need for them in my gardens. It’s here where I found it necessary to place these units less than 20 feet from each other for adequate garden level protection from moles. And that’s fine. I’d place them 5 feet apart if necessary. But then I’d also get a Rat Terrier or Dachshund to patrol my gardens if it came to that. So take that 5000’ coverage area figure with a grain of salt depending on where you are going to use these things.Incidentally, the spikes we put in the lawn have been operating continuously since March 2022. Even through last winter. They’re flush mounted and unaffected by the lawnmower. Also, one of the units I purchased a few months ago failed within two weeks. Using the contact information found in their return policy I was able to receive a replacement with just a few days. So kudos to these folks for good customer service.

Works with caveats....
Even though I have a small front and back yard I bought two 4 packs because 1) this place is totally infested with them and 2)I figured they might break or not work as well as they said. After 1 month or so, one of them did indeed break... sounds like it's got water inside.Anyway, you do you have to do some work to get these in the ground far enough, it's not easy peazy just stick it in the ground and walk away. They emit a pretty loud sound, I was hoping it would be more subtle. My neighbor hears it, and I don't know if it irritates them, but it is a pretty annoying 2 second beep about every 20 to 30 seconds. My cats don't seem to mind it or don't hear it.About a week after putting these down, started noticing increased vole/mole activity. This lasted for about 2 weeks. I started getting worried that wasn't working, but during this last week or so, the number of tunnels has decreased significantly. I think planting the spikes slowly got them irritated and they gradually vacated the premises. Seems like there's still a few of them, but overall I think it's done its job. Hopefully this continues into the Fall and winter.

What a blessing to have.
They do keep the critters from eating my flowers

Does not eliminate mounds of dirt, but it does help.
Update 8/28/22: 3 Months later, these are no longer emitting the solar sound and (presumably) no longer working. The last week, I have noticed an increase of mounds of dirt throughout the yard, which tells me that these were actually working to keep the moles away. However, now the stakes both appear to be filled with water on the top - maybe the reason they’re not working. Despite them only helping for a few months, I decided to invest in a new pair to preserve my sanity.Prior to purchasing these, I was experiencing at least one mound of dirt in my yard every morning. I didn’t want to trap any nasty critters, so I bought these in hopes of helping them move to another yard. I had a little difficulty installing them (as you have to have a steel rod or something similar to install them flush with the ground) and unfortunately one of them broke upon install. The other 3 were installed successfully. They do make a low buzzing sound every 15 seconds. After install, I didn’t have any dirt mounds for a few days, and then one mound popped up. Then a few more days, and another one. This morning there was a huge dirt mound, within just a couple feet of the sensor. So, I can’t say if the sensors are working, or if the mole/gopher is getting tired. I’m going to keep them in the ground either way.

Better than I expected
I was vet skeptical about these working. A guy at the feed and seed suggested them because I didn’t want to put out poison because of our dogs. I had several moles in my yard and they had tunneled all over my garden and my yard. I put two of these on either side of the yard and in just a day or two the moles were gone. No new tunnels and the chihuahuas had stopped freaking and digging all over my garden and yard. This is my second year using them and so far, no moles or voles to be found!

Worked for 8 months…
Bought on 4/2022. Installation was easy enough. By mid June one of 4 stopped working. A few weeks later a second went dead. Two still working in December but barely. Full sun backyard from sun up to sundown. They did help with the mole/vole problem when they were initially working in the summer time. Now, they are yard ornaments that make no sound and practically aren’t worth purchasing. Would not recommend unless 6-8 months works for you.PS - never mistreated or mishandled. On the contrary, I baby everything I own and use. They just slowly stopped functioning.
