Great starter book, After reading it I decided not to go in as a partner in the cattle business. I would have to be silent and that is not me. If I am not knowledgeable I am incapable of making any decisions or suggestions and worse yet I would not know things were going wrong until it had gone wrong. I have not given up on the idea, but it will be years before I am ready even if I go back to collage. I have a greater respect for ranchers armed with a fragment of insight.

Nikki and Scott Royer do a very good job of laying out the essentials of raising beef cattle. Organized in five major categories, the reader can "jump" around from chapter to chapter depending on what they are most interested in. Well done and highly recommended to the novice just getting interested in raising cattle, whether for personal home food, or for raising cattle as a business. Bravo!

This is a great book on raising cattle the right way, grass fed. This is great information for the beginner as well as the experienced cattle raiser. Not only is there info on raising cattle, but raising with the enviroment in mind. Information is easy to read and understand. Great book for your bookself if you are interested in cattle.
