It appears to be a steel pot with a non stick coating

Q: Can i use it to melt chocolate?

Hi. I would not put chocolate directly into pot. It is way to fast to melt without burning. I eould suggest a bowl of chocolate sitting in the steamer rack and water in the base eould work though. Hope that helps 👍
