A wonderful 60% mechanical keyboard offering from Ducky
I've been looking for a good 60% mechanical keyboard for a while. One of the issues facing users of mechanicals is ANSI boards are much more widely available than ISO so you have a greater choice, but I wanted an ISO keyboard. I came across this board from Ducky and it ticked all the boxes apart from the colour scheme. However, it has really grown on me! I swapped the Enter key out for the included blue key and it adds a bit of colour to my setup rather than the defacto black. I have read that Ducky are bringing out a black (and white version) of this model very soon, but I'm now a fan of the daybreak theme. The keys are fantastic to type on. I have another mechanical with red switches and the Ducky is way quieter. It's such a pleasure to type on. I've had no issues adapting to 60% from my TKL. There were a few occasions where I reached for the arrow keys but after a few days of use, I'm using them on the 2nd-layer just fine. I have remapped several keys. Fn -> Caps, and mapped the arrow keys to h,j,k,l aka. Vim bindings. Mapping is very easy to do. Everything is included in the instructions.Despite being plastic, the keyboard is quite weighty. It has fantastic grip and doesn't slip like most of my other boards. The key caps feel great too. It's great you can do all the programming on the board without having to resort to crappy software that you get with a lot of other boards. If coming from TKL and you think you might struggle with 60%, you may wish to consider the SF model. My use case is gaming and programming, and I'm having no issues at all. I love having the extra desk space! And no more reaching for function keys etc. If you're a touch typist, your hands will thank you for it.TLDR; A fantastic prebuilt 60% mechanical keyboard that is a pleasure to work on. 10/10!
