Water the chickens
I saw complaints about these and about the chicken watering nipples, but I figured I would try to make it work. This is during the time of covid and supply chain diff., but these and the nipples were delivered quickly.Screwing the h2o nipples into these was difficult. It is very tight threads. I used pliers and leverage and worked very slowly. I found putting Teflon tape on the theads made it much easier but make sure you are not cross threaded. You cannot put the wing nut on which make it diff to know when to stop and i had to put it all together to find leaks. If it is leaking you need to keep tighting it down until it stops, even a slow drip will stop. It will look like it is tight but if you can turn it, do so. My next thougjt was to use an 'O' ring but the leak stopped. I was concerned as others said they cracked the pvc, lucky for the chickens not a prob. all leaks were stopped. I hope this helps others. These are not expensive Nd for the convenience and safety of you flock worth a try. My girls are happy with multiple water choices.

Read this first before buying
These pressure gauge and reducer work really well, but one star is based on the overall design and functionality. The water cups don't work well at all. Keeping the pressure within the green range offers very little pressure for the cups to fill. A chicken would have to keep depressing the float for 10 seconds straight to get a enough water to be able to drink it. In order to get any reasonable pressure coming out without over-pressurizing the system, mine needs to be kept at 12-15 psi. And still, my chickens have not figured it out and the cups sit empty all the time. Backyard flock claim that the cups stay clean, not true. Mine were installed 2 ft off the ground where my chickens have to perch to drink (when i put water in them that is) and the cups always get filthy after 3-4 days. Chickens are dirth by nature, thats just the way it is. Some cups are delivered faulty where there is no hole for the water to come through so make sure you inspect them when they arrive... don't wait a few months like I did. You can just blow through them and there should be very little resistance. The one star is also for Backyard Flock not responding to emails in a timely manner. Not saying not to buy this because some people seem to have had success with it, just saying to inspect operability first and to install right away before it's glued and too late to return. NOTE: dry fit and test the system first to see if it works before glueing the pieces together. There is not enough pressure after the reducer to blow the system apart. Where your utility line goes in to the reducer, just make sure it is a really tight fit to hold the line and reducer together and you just turn on the water. The system can be left pressure fitted but be ready to have leaks. Slight disappointed

Not a thing wrong with these....
I don't understand why there are so many reviewers talking about these things breaking when installing the chicken watering nips. I did six of them with zero trouble - they all work great and don't leak.Note that the chicken watering things have silicone gaskets that seal up well. There's no need to crank them down on these tees as hard as you can. If you do, I imagine they *will* break. But if you use your head and apply the right about of torque, you'll be fine.

Great product.
These worked perfectly with the RentAcoop waterers that I purchased. The pvc pipe from any store with just fine with them. I got mine at Home Depot. Just make sure you are 100% with the orientation since you can’t adjust it after the glue dries. I messed up but used two couplers to rotate them. Mark the pipe with permanent marker and a fine line. I was in a hurry and didn’t do it that. Other than that they are great.

Works great with red cup chicken waterers
Worked as expected. Fit great with big box pvc pipe. Using this in line with 4 chicken waterers, the red cup style. Use a little thread tape when screwing in the water cups or whatever you use, just to help prevent possible leaks as the cups provided seals are not always the greatest. Of course you should also use some pvc glue to prevent leaks between these and the pvc pipes.
