These knives have a serrated edge. I didn’t spot this in the specifications, if it’s there. In any case, in my opinion, not at all suitable for fine slicing, which is what I had hoped for.

Whoever said these are too heavy just baffles me. I guess maybe if you're an elderly lady that could be an issue. I for one have never found a knife with solid rigid blade and quality handle with weight and mass but still has a micro serrated blade. It's a straight chef's blade with micro serration. Not some goofy wavy blade like I recently purchased from Amazon. These knives are amazing and I'm surprised that I like the small one very much. Typically I like a full size chef knife. But the small knife is large enough to cut easily through a large tomato without feeling like the blade is too short and I'm not wielding such a big knife on my tiny cutting board. I could not be happier with this knife set. The quality is leaps and bounds beyond most micro serrated knives I've been able to find in the last few years that are all made overseas with flimsy blades, tiny tangs inside cheap plastic handles that weigh nearly nothing in your hand. All in all thrilled with this purchase. And that's after I just spent $80 fancy celebrity promoted knife that has a similar weight to these but requires honing and sharpening.
