Q: Can I use this on cotton?

I’m sure you could, but Scotchgard is formulated, specifically for use on cotton, whereas this product is specifically formulated for leather and suede.

Q: “Will this cause in discoloration in canvas? I want to put thos on my vans”

It shouldn't. It is completely clear. With leather, shoes darken while they are wet, but after drying, go back to original color.

Q: Can this be used on lv, channel, mk or other expensive type of leather purses?

Yes, I have successfully used it on my expensive purses, especially the lighter colored ones. I used to get them stained from brushing against dark colored denims. You may need to reapply after a few use, just for extra protection
