The thread on the 3/8"-1/2" converter does not match with the thread on the hose.

Overall, the under sink filter has significantly improved our lives. The installation process was relatively easy, and the box included common pipe fitting adapters. While we have not yet quantifiably tested the water quality, we have noticed that the filtered water does not leave calcium deposits, which is particularly helpful as the tap water in Southern California is notoriously hard. However, some of the pipe fittings were challenging to tighten without a small wrench, although this was more due to our own stubbornness than any issue with the product. Despite this, we were able to ensure that there were no leaks in the lines or connections. Compared to our previous countertop gravity filter, which took up a lot of valuable countertop space and was time-consuming to operate, the under sink unit fits neatly behind everything and is not a hindrance. One of the key factors in our decision to purchase this filter was its NSF/ANSI 53 & 42 certification. This means that it filters out chlorine, taste and odor, chloramine, particulate, iron, manganese, zinc, total dissolved solids, lead, Cryptosporidium, VOCs, and chromium. We opted not to go for a reverse osmosis filter as it indiscriminately strips water of essential electrolytes. This unit filters everything we need it to and has relatively inexpensive filter costs.

Ordered this water filter for our coffee machines which required a flow rate over 1gpm. With a flow rate of 3gpm, this filter is working great and has plenty of head room for my espresso machine too! Setup and installation was easy although it only comes with one hose. Since I was installing direct to the shut-off valve at the water line, I needed two hoses. One to connect from my shut-off valve to the water filter and the second to connect from the filter to my coffee machine. I was lucky and had a second hose on hand which is the only reason I gave 4 stars for the install. (my previous smaller water filter came with two connection hoses). The other great thing I like about this filter is the see through sight indicator to see when you need to change your filter. Also, you only need to change the filter cartridge and can reuse the filter housing. Great idea to save on plastic!! Go Green!! So far so good. Water taste great, fast flow, and trying to do what I can to help save waste. Highly recommend you give it a try.

Depending on how much room you have under the sink, it should be easy to install. I have a high flow faucet and the filter doesn't have a problem keeping up. The water tastes better and is clearer than any bottled or other types of filtered water I've ever had. I have never had a leak, and depending on how clean your tap water already is depends on how quickly you will need to change the filter which is very easy to do.

This filter is easy to install for users with either 1" IPT or 3/8" compression fittings (watch the video if you're confused). If you have another size, be prepared to run to your local hardware store. For the haters, don't blame the seller if you have weird requirements; they ship for the two most common uses. In my case, I put it in front of my instant hot water dispenser, so had to add a 3/8" tee to the supply. I also replaced the 1" to 3/8" nipple and 1/4"OD adapter with a 1"-to-1/4" 90˚ valve. If someone follows suit, please be warned that you need the supplied O-ring, as pipe tape was not enough to seal the brass nipple to the filter casing. Also, the filter wrench confused me at first. It's not for removing the outer shell from the casing, it's to remove the filter core from the outer shell. There is a video to demonstrate how to replace the core. UPDATE: After 2 1/2 years of great service, the housing broke into two pieces at 2:30am, flooding my kitchen with water. Other reviewers mention a 50psi limit that is not documented anywhere on the Amazon listing. Avoid this product like the cheap garbage it is!
