Are these safe to use in an edible garden (herbs, tomatoes, etc)?

I would, but if you're not certain if microorganisms still exist in this clean bag of pebbles, you can always sanitize them yourself by using liquid bleach and water.

All but a handful were size of smaller/smooth/shiny driveway pebble (pea rock). About six to eight of them were size of 1/2 golf ball (added weight?) All worked well in vase of water to support/grow paperwhite bulbs.

Can I put these in a turtle tank without harm?

The back of the bag has a caution in regard to this. It reads: “We do not offer guidance on the specific effect of this Rock on your Flora, fauna, fungi, etc. or how it will affect the water quality levels of ph, gh, alkalinity, ammonia etc. When in doubt discuss with aquatic professional or a floral specialist before use. Before you add the rock into the aquarium base or planter, please ensure that you wash them well to get rid of any surface chemicals, bacteria, fungus, algae and parasites that may be present. Soak them in boiled water (don’t boil rocks), brush and rose well, or soak in a bleach/water solution, let dry before use.” I can attest that I did not rinse mine before putting them in my decorative fountain on my desk, and the water definitely had a slight film to it. I added some algaecide and it’s fine now. But for pets definitely make sure you clean them, like with anything you’d add to a terrarium.
