Automatic Return to Home turned my $3000+ to JUNK!!
Maybe to someone who caresWith no external input the return to home function automatically flew the Mavic 3 into the top of a very visible 90’ fir tree. The fall through the branches and hitting the ground pretty much destroyed it. This very expensive drone does not offer the much safer earlier user chosen RTH. It returns to home automatically so fast it’s hard to judge if it’ll hit something as it seems to be very close and even harder to stop in time, leaving little but trust in the manufacturer’s software. Obviously this is a very bad idea!!! Watching earlier RTH’s caused considerable concern but no aborts and a good RTH in the end. The same home point was used for all my trials.I have and consistently flown and fly my M2pro, M2zoom, Air2 , Air2s, Mini2 and mini. , all practically since their introduction with no more than a few broken props. And many many RTH’s without incident.I did manage a number of flights with the M3 , and had some very accurate RTH’s but one saw a bad landing ( along way from the observed and recorded home point) and hovered till I cancelled and brought it home, another RTH hovered itself amongst some trees until I flew it out. It also seemed to wander at times needing constant input to hold station.I have had a few crashes in thousands of flights with my other DJI drones with no more than a few scratches and broken props, this M3 seemed to disintegrate on the way down from the tree, one motor ripped off and never found!Question is now what can I do ?????Submitted in the hopes that it’ll help someone else avoid such a loss.Rick

Horizon tilting issue is big
My Mavic 3 has the infamous horizon tilting issue. If you Google it you will see how common this is. For one thing, this sort of defect is unacceptable for a device that costs an arm and a leg. There are $200 drones out there that can keep a straight horizon so DJI has no excuses. But the main reason for my low rating is actually for DJI's horrendous customer service. When I contacted them with the horizon issue (and keep in mind this is a product defect, not my fault), they kept giving me the run around going so far as to ask me to pay them (yes you read that right) so that they could repair it.I am stuck with this drone because I can't return in anymore but this is the last time I spend money on a DJI product. I highly advise against buying this drone, both because of the lack of quality control and also because of the terrible custom service.

2 months flew it 5 times
Takes great video and flew well but then all of a sudden 2 months it wouldn't connect to the controller. Now trying to get it fixed and had it all packed up and it has to be sent to California. Then, UPS takes it and then returns it and said it was missing something. UPS and DJI arrange the label and now I have a drone back in my hands that's not repaired waiting on DJI to find out what my next step will be. Not a happy camper and all I wanted was drone that flies and I've had no troubles with other products from DJI. Amazon says I'm pass there time for returns but there must be a company warranty on this. Sucks, wish they had a place in Canada that I could take it too and get fixed? Not a cheap paper weight...

Unable to connect properly to DJI Fly app
I have owned a DJI drone (mini 2) for over a year now and when DJI sent out the stat videos at the end of 2021 I got a message saying I flew my drone more than 95% of DJI drone users. So I have a little bit of experience with them. My mini 2 was perfect, flew perfectly, performed nicely, no issues. I had such a great experience with it that I really felt confident in DJI products. I ordered another mini 2 a couple of months ago and it was a nightmare! The gimbal constantly needed calibrating as the horizon was never level and you would turn the drone 180 degrees and suddenly the horizon was unlevel again. So I returned that one and got a Mavic 3 (i use these for work). The mavic 3 has been as bad as the second mini 2 that I got. Lots of calibration needed, very sporadic in its' movements, but the number one issue I have is that it doesn't connect properly to the fly app. It connects well enough to fly/control the drone, but the app has no idea it's ever been connected, logs no flight time for it, and does not register that it's taken a single picture or video. It also cannot find the drone to lightning connect. So when I'm out with the drone, there is NO WAY AT ALL to see any of the pictures or videos that i've taken. I have to go home and plug the memory card into the computer. Really hoping this is a one-off because i had really high hopes for this one.

Not quite as robust
I own and have flown a Mavic 2 prior to buying the Mavic 3. I was disappointed to learn the Mavic 3 will not communicate up to 15 KMS as advertised. I didn’t get anywhere near that distance when I lost communication. I was flying in the forest and not an open field. I found the signal to be jerky at 300 yds and kept it within sight. I found the Mavic 2 to be more responsive at that distance than the Mavic 3. A few times the drone did a RTH without my prompt. I thought at first I bumped the RTH button but it happened a few times. Be careful which USB-C cord you use from the charger to charge your batteries. Confusing as both cords from the charger have a USB-C connector. Use the thin one to charge the battery pack. The thick cord goes to the drone. Confusing but the thick one will not charge batteries in the pack. The video and pictures are awesome quality. If photography is your object this Mavi 3 is a good choice.
