How are the Net Carbs around 4g? I am seeing 8 and 9...definitely not 4.

Fiber is a carbohydrate, however it can't be broken down by our non-cow stomachs, therefore it's not digested. Thus, you have to deduct those from the total carb count to get a net carb. This goes for any food, not just these bars. Regarding the sweetener commented on by others: Allulose is also known as D-psicose. It is classified as a "rare sugar" because it is naturally present in only a few foods. Wheat, figs and raisins all contain it. Like glucose and fructose, allulose is a monosaccharide, or single sugar. In contrast, table sugar, also known as sucrose, is a disaccharide made of glucose and fructose joined together. In fact, allulose has the same chemical formula as fructose, but is arranged differently. This difference in structure prevents your body from processing allulose the way it processes fructose. Although 70–84% of the allulose you consume is absorbed into your blood from your digestive tract, it is eliminated in the urine without being used as fuel. Allulose also provides only 0.2–0.4 calories per gram, or about 1/10 the calories of table sugar. It is NOT a sugar alcohol. Although small amounts of this rare sugar are found in some foods, in recent years, manufacturers have used enzymes to convert fructose from corn and other plants into allulose, so while they may use some creative organic chemistry, this is a natural sugar that just doesn't get digested as calories or raise your blood sugar. The taste and texture have been described as identical to table sugar. It is about 70% as sweet as sugar, which is similar to the sweetness of erythritol, another popular sweetener. It not only does not raise blood sugar, some studies indicate it may actually improve insulin resistance (i.e., it's good for diabetics). I personally have used the product in baking in place of sugar. Hope that helps.

are these closer to a Lara bar? or closer to a Probar or cliff bar?

I would say they are closer to a Lara bar in terms of flavor and consistency. Lara bars have a better flavor in my opinion. These tasted like dates without the other flavors Lara bars contain. Cliff bars are way harder than these. These are pretty soft.

The label shows 17g carbs and 9g fiber. This calculates to 8 net carbs, twice as many as advertised. Can you explain?
