Works on 1973 Datsun 610 w/ minor mods
Purchased this carburetor for a 1973 Datsun 610 equipped with the factory Hitachi DCH 340. Car originally had an automatic choke. This carb has manual choke. Will have to rig up a choke cable for full functionality. Not a huge deal.Throttle linkage pin considerably larger in diameter than the hole on this carb. Was able to get around this by removing the part on the old carb that throttle linkage attaches to and putting it on new carb. Also had to cut off the part of new carb where cable would attach. It would've hit the intake manifold otherwise. After these mods, carburetor works fine. Car fired right up and idles better than it did with previous carb.

Good Non-emmision/Non-automatic Choke copy of a Hitachi.
Good replacement for my Hitachi DCH340 on the L20B engine on my 1979 Datsun 620. I had to trim an unnecessary pipe on the air cleaner cover, go to a manual choke, & switch the accelerator cable bell crank from the old carb to the new one. I prefer the manual choke, as the automatic choke never worked too well on the Hitachi anyway. The Hitachi, although too complex for my needs, was a necessary evil to comply with US emmision standards, back when the truck was new. it wasn't bad for most of its history, but as it got old, I found myself having to constantly fiddle with it, & I finally got tired of it & decided to get this non-emmision simplefied copy of a Hitachi carb, so I no longer had to wrestle in vain with the DCH340 or spend too much money to convert to a Webber, which I probably would have done, if I hadn't come across this one at such a reasonable price.
